The majority of children may already be back at school, but that doesn't wipe away memories of what has happened to us all over the last 18 months. For some, anxieties surrounding Covid-19 may still feel overwhelming at times.

Never has it been more important for us all to talk to our children about their mental health. This website is created for children by Childline to offer tips and activities to help them work through their feelings in productive ways. Please share if you have other links that you've also found useful!

There are lots of way to feel calmer. Try our breathing exercises, activities and games or watch a video to help let go of stress.

Many thanks to everybody for attending our very first ASHR (advanced student honour roll) celebration on Tuesday!

Congratulations to all our awardees and their families - it goes to show how hard work pays off. Those of you on the ASHR are now completing work above the international standard for your age - great work!

Thanks also to Kumon Senior Regional Manager, Andrew Holder, for attending to help us celebrate. We were very sad the centre's area manager Kumon Emma Parfey was too poorly to attend - hopefully you can make the next one!

Learning independently is our aim for EVERY student at the centre! This allows each child to develop a love of learning and become real critical thinkers studying on advanced work.

Please let Flora know if your child is ever having any difficulties BEFORE you start assisting your child therefore!

By giving specific feedback and goals to each child, we can praise them for each achievement they make in their daily study! It's even more important to praise HOW our students work as it is to praise their results - this way, our students develop into fearless, positive learners, not afraid to give things a go!

Nurturing our students to answer questions at a pace and with accuracy allows them to move onto harder work with confidence and secure in their abilities. Oftentimes, this can mean practice of the same worksheets is necessary!

Don't worry though, we have it in hand at the centre - we're observing each child carefully to see that their accuracy and times are improving at each repeat, so we can be sure we move on at the right pace for them!
