Miniforesters Sessions 🌿
Last term, our Miniforesters had a fantastic time exploring the woods. From swinging in hammocks and making music with instruments, to digging, playing with trucks, and cooking in the leaf kitchen. We went bug hunting, created natural crafts, drew with chalks and charcoal… and so much more! There’s truly something for every child to enjoy.
Come and join us for a brand new summer term at Miniforesters!

Our Miniforesters made spinners this week! 🌿
Since the start of term, we’ve been building on our Forest Folk tool skills—introducing a new tool each week and now beginning to combine them to create something really special.
This week’s challenge was making toy spinners, which didn’t just test tool skills but also encouraged a bit of engineering and problem-solving along the way.
It was wonderful to see the children experimenting, adapting, and figuring out what worked best to get their spinners moving.
I think you’ll agree—they did an amazing job! 💚
🌿 Saturday Minis – February ☀️
The sun came out for us and we had a lovely time exploring the woods as they begin to change from winter into spring. The children took part in a scavenger hunt, searching for signs of the new season and discovering what nature had to show us.
We planted sweet peas, as this is the perfect time to get them propagating ready for summer blooms. 🌱
Our Saturday Minis also practised their woodworking skills, using bow saws and hand drills to create some lovely wooden medals to take home. We think they did an amazing job!

Miniforesters sessions this week!
Miniforesters weekday sessions have been embracing the weather and making the most of our time in the woods! 🌿🍂
This week, we explored the fascinating world of animal tracks — learning about the different footprints we might spot when we’re out and about, and how to identify them. We even had a go at making some of our own tracks too! 🐾
Our discoveries linked beautifully with our story of The Gruffalo's Child by Julia Donaldson, giving us the perfect opportunity to create some fantastic Gruffalo’s Child faces. And what an array of amazing faces we had — such a creative bunch! 🎨✨
We’re taking a half term break next week and will return with more fun-packed sessions in the week commencing 23rd February.
If you fancy joining us, head over to our website for more details — we’d love to welcome you along! 🌲
