🌞 The sun has come out just in time for our Annual Mark Davies Cup today at Orchard School Bristol! 🎉

We’re thrilled to welcome all of our Trust’s incredible Year 5 students as they come together to compete in a fantastic range of events. 🏃‍♂️🤸‍♀️⚽ This day is truly something special – a celebration of teamwork, determination, and community spirit.

It’s always amazing to see our schools united, and today promises to be filled with smiles, cheers, and unforgettable moments. 💛💪

📺 Spotlight on Orchard! 🌟

We’re proud to share that Orchard School Bristol was featured on BBC Points West last night and in the news for leading the way in promoting healthier phone use in schools.

In July last year, Trust in Learning Academies introduced Yondr pouches in both of its secondary schools, including Orchard—and the impact has been remarkable.

💬 “We’ve seen a drop in ‘corridor defiance’ and a huge increase in engagement with our personal development programmes,” said headteacher Mel Sweet. “Break times are now social, happy spaces.”

As a result, the Trust is recommending that parents delay smartphones until Year 10—a move Mel describes as "preserving a little corner of childhood."

👏 We’re delighted this innovative approach is gaining recognition and hope it inspires more schools to explore digital balance for students.
