Learn to Sail - Brighton Sailing Club

We are holding our first Learn to Sail Open Day of the year this Saturday (19th March)! If you are interested in Our Learn to Sail Membership Programme, please come down to Brighton Sailing Club at 1:30pm. We should be able to answer any questions you might have then!😁 and there’s no need to bring any equipment!

Well done everyone who came down for a sail today, you did amazing🕺 Unfortunately, the lack of wind really made staying away from that pesky pier quite difficult... Regardless, I hope you all still had fun floating around and doing the capsizing drills. Fingers crossed for some more wind next week💨💨💨

Weeks 1 & 2 of the Learn to Sail RYA level 1 course have been sucessfully completed! ✅ And we have 6 newbie sailors beginning their RYA level 1 course right this second. Here are the photos and stories so far...

What an amazing couple of days we had in week 1! A huge well done to Carolyn, who although nearly in tears, managed to conquer her fears and successfully sail in incredibly strong winds on day 2.... meanwhile Emma & Andreas’ chaotic boat was filling with water and slowly sinking!!!... We really thought it was the end for us... but, we survived and didn’t capsize (we were so very close)!

Emma certainly won the award for being the most clumsy sailor... falling over in the boat almost every 30 seconds! (I am still recovering with many bruises🤕)

Well done everyone for your excellent sailing and thank you for such a fun and memorable time! I can’t wait to start sailing out on Brighton beach with you all 😁⛵️

Thank you to everyone who came down to our LTS open days over the last few weeks - it was so great to meet you all and I really wish we had enough spaces for everyone to learn to sail... I really do hope to see you next year! Tomorrow we begin the first RYA level 1 course... so exciting😁⛵️!
