It really soothes my soul to see so many cheistmas presents that are hand-me-downs. I love kitsch christmas decore as much as the next millennial, but the more life experience I get under my belt, the more unsettled I get by the waste and the hyper-capitalism of Christmas time. Why on 🌎 do kids (anyone?) need a gazillion new pieces of plastic to out-grow in 2 years?

Re-use. Re-purpose. Hand down. Put it on marketplace or vinted. Charity shop. Share the memories. Save money and the planet.

I am ao grateful to .crap.parties for giving me good inspo this festive season.

She only went and dun it.

I never thought I would be able to proudly say that over the course of just 30 days, I swam 10 whole miles (or 16,093.44 metres if you will). That is BONKERS!

Even more amazing was raising a whopping great ÂŁ387 which was about 3 times as much as I was expecting.

Two months ago, the most and most longest distance I had ever swam was 800m - and that was on a good day. I had been regularly swimming once or twice a week for a few months and enjoying how meditative it is. Just swimming for larks.

I signed up to this challenge when I was full of all those good hormones and up for it, but by about a week in, it occurred to me that 10 miles is a reeeeally long way.

And then people started donating money in my name to which was both a huge pressure and a huge motivation at the same time.

I am thrilled and exhausted and proud and amazed and very, VERY grateful for the support and motivation from loyal fans and from themselves.

Someone give the girl a medal, eh?!

I have always loved splish splashin' around in the water. At age ten I fell in love with the idea of being a real life mermaid at Weekie Wachee Spring, and it is a dream I have never been able to toootally let go of. As I near the end of my Ten Miles in Thirty Days challenge, there is a part of me that worries I will still be a little bit short on distance before the 30 days are up. Possibly.

But that isnt to do with a lack of motivation, more a lack of time and struggling to fit in so many hobby hours whilst also having a toddler (for example, I wanted to go swimming early doors on Thursday but then Olive had 5 horrible wake ups in the night and by 4am thw idea of getting up in an hour to swim was a big fat NOPE).

But whatever happens, I am proud of myself for taking on such a mammoth challenge and for smashing it as best I can. I have raised well over ÂŁ300 for which I am thrilled about. Knowing that has been SUCH an added motivator when my muscles start to ache.

So there is a chance I will be 0.5 miles short of ten BUT today I swam further than I have ever ever swam before in one go, and so if I manage that again tomorrow, we will be all groovy!

P.s. new goggles, who dis?

Today's swim was SO COLD. I absolutely love but even I have to admit that it may be time for something a tad warmer soon. But I am well over 4 miles into my 10 mile challenge, with 2 weeks to go. It isn't quite as far as I would have liked to be, but I am feeling positive still. Cold, but positive.

[Thanks so much to .georgia.stockley for lending me this big fluffy warm changing robe!]

I am swimming ten miles, over the course of only 30 days. Whelp!

This is absolutely going to be the biggest physical challenge of my life (apart from maybe growing a child).

Luckily, I love swimming. Over the summer months I have got back into swimming regularly, going to ,
, and my favourite place in the world: the south coast sea! Not only has my fitness and stamina got better, but outdoor swimming has soothed my soul as well as my body.

I wanted a way to motivate myself to keep up the swimming once autumn hits, and so I'm making a splash and taking on research.

Many of us were moved by Sir Terry Pratchett's documentaries and talks that helped to raise awareness of his condition before he died from Alzheimer's himself in 2005.

But as well as raising awareness, it is important that we keep researching possible cures. I remember listening to British neuroscientist Professor Tim Bliss talking about his work in 2006. Tim said, on Radio 4, something along the lines of "we know probably about 1% of all that there is to know about the human brain"... and this was coming from the man who had just won The Brain Prize!

Around a million people are currently living with dementia across the UK. Until the day we find a cure, Alzheimer's Society is here for everyone affected. Wherever they are, whatever they're going through.

Your donations will keep me going and hold me accountable, so please help me put the miles in!

It was a very good day to celebrate the marriage of Uncle Nathan and Auntie Alex. Olive had a crowd to entertain and was in her element.

But who wore it best?

Isn’t it just the best when the people you love do incredible things? And even better when you get to support a brilliant local business at the same time?

My beautiful bestie Harriet has poured her heart and soul into launching her own massage therapy practice — and let me tell you, she’s absolutely nailed it. She’s transformed her garden room into the most stunning, serene treatment space, and I was lucky enough to be one of her first clients at this week. It was truly amazing.

Not only was the massage deeply relaxing (I floated out feeling light and dreamy), but Harriet also shared fascinating insights into the anatomy and science behind her techniques. It was empowering and soothing all at once — I left feeling more connected to my body and with some brilliant maintenance tips too. The body is a temple, after all!

Just look at how gorgeous the garden studio is. Now picture lying there, being gently restored while gazing out at a veggie patch, listening to birdsong and the soft hum of bees. Absolute heaven.

Please, please book in with Harriet. You’ll have a genuinely wonderful experience — and you’ll be supporting a wonderful human doing something extraordinary.

First year of motherhood... completed it, mate.

Now that the hard part is over (har har har), I am looking forward to being a person in my own right again, and not just someone's mum.
That will definitely include some yoga sessions soon. I am so excited to see you!
xoxoxo
