Wow what a busy last week at nursery, the children have enjoyed visiting the Seahorse ice cream shop, having our own mini sports day, making lots of mess with shredded paper and officially signing out of Nursery 👋
We are looking forward to seeing you all on Monday for our End of Term party 🎉

We've had so much fun this week making giant bubbles, exploring our lemonade tuff tray, getting creative with upside down drawing, releasing butterflies and working together in our class groups during small group activities. It's been a week full of laughter, learning and plenty of smiles! 💛🫧🍋🎨

This week, our focus story was 'The Very Busy Spider.' The children created their own spider webs and also searched for spider webs in the garden.

We also got into the football spirit by making our own England flags and enjoying some football-themed fun!

**Nursery Children**

Due to the hot weather this coming week, we will be having sprinklers and paddling pools set up in the shade of the garden, please could you send your child to nursery with a couple of changes of clothes and a carrier bag for us to put the wet clothes in. If they have swimming outfits which cover their arms that would be amazing but please don’t buy anything especially, tops and shorts would be perfect.

Please also bring a spare towel if you can :-)

This week in Seahorse class we enjoyed 'The Hungry Caterpillar' story and created caterpillars using playdough, paint, and chalks. We also became pirates in the garden, searching for buried treasure. In addition, we continued practising getting changed into our PE kits, helping to build our independence ready for school

This term, the children are going to be learning about minibeasts, with a particular focus on snails this week. We were lucky enough to have a child bring in some pet snails for us to observe.
In addition, we have begun our transition visits to the Reception playground. These visits provide opportunities for the children to explore their new environment and become familiar with the new setting. We have also started to practice getting changed in readiness for our pe lessons

This week in Starfish Room our story of the week is called Blue balloon. At the moment the children are really enjoying colour mixing. This week they mixed different shades of blue together and also have been practicing their pincer grip by squeezing the pipettes in the blue water.

To celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, we created our very own miniature “Attenborough’s Corner” within the garden. The children have all enjoyed collecting a variety of natural materials to help build our bug hotel and were excited to contribute to the project.

We are looking forward to seeing the garden come to life with wildlife, and the children will be able to observe the insects and creatures beginning to make their new home in our outdoor area 🐸 🦆 🦔

This week in the Starfish Room our tadpoles are back, They have a nice new tank. The children spend lots of time watching them and asking questions about them.

When they get their front legs we will reduce the water level and make sure they have rocks and logs to climb out of the water on. Then we will release the little froglets back into the school wildlife pond, where they came from 🐸
