Class 1 and 2 had a fantastic Forest School session at Stocks Wood on Monday. We enjoyed toasting marshmallows over the fire, building dens, playing hide-and-seek, and learning how to safely make mini fires. We also shared a picnic together and went pond dipping to discover the wildlife around us. To top it all off, the sunshine came out, making it a lovely day outdoors. ☀️

Class 2 have had a great day at St Bees, if not a little soggy! 🌧️
We braved the weather and took in the sights, looking carefully at the coastline and the physical and human features we could see. The day kicked off with a fantastic visit to St Bees lifeboat station RNLI The volunteers who showed us around were so welcoming and gave us a wonderful tour of the station and the boat. Also, a big thanks to Seacote Hotel, St Bees who kindly let us eat our lunch in their warm, dry hotel. Much appreciated 😊

Class 3 have had two fantastic days with Laura and the West Cumbria Rivers Trust. We enjoyed a school based workshop yesterday, learning all about the old mine at walkmill. The children enjoyed studying maps, creating timelines, bingo, artwork and a "Let's go Mining" game. Then today, we ventured over to the walkmill site at Moresby Parks. Class 3 enjoyed orienteering, creating habitats, learning about the local wildlife and we finished the day with a fun "river run" game. Thank you to Laura and all the Rivers Trust team for a super couple of days!

The Year 2’s have had a wonderful first residential to Bassenfell. They enjoyed exploring the grounds of Bassenfell, completing missions, crate stacking, camp fires, orienteering and archery.
The children impressed us so much with their bravery and enthusiasm for trying all activities, great team work and positive attitudes. We are very proud of you all!
