Welcome to week 22 of the Stitch22 project; the last one in this series. This week I'm introducing you to the idea of stitching from the front and then from the back, building up interesting layers by repeating a favourite stitch. I've chosen fly stitch in my samples, occasionally using a twisted version of it. In the video, I'm introducing you to the simple process of making a group of your chosen stitch and then, when your thread is at the back, flipping to the reverse and continuing to stitch another group of stitches. https://youtu.be/3J0N4ZJydJ8
So choose your stitch and gather a collection of different types of thread - and enjoy. The attached samples are shown in pairs - one from the front and one from the back.
I'll post a list of all the videos on Facebook in a couple of weeks in case you missed one. Do post your own samples to share with us all or send to me to post for you - sian at distantstitch dot co dot uk

Welcome to week 21 of the Stitch22 Project. This penultimate stitch is a lacing or insertion stitch - linking fabric shapes together in a lacy effect. Please take a look at this short video and the different variations shown in the samples -

Welcome to week 20 of the Stitch22 project. This week I introduce you to 'seeding', tiny stitches to sprinkle or cover an area. Here is a short video to show you how you can make use of this stitch idea -
https://youtu.be/8eOW9Dd1_JY. You can see other ideas in the attached samples. Enjoy 'sowing' your seeding stitches.

Welcome to Week 19 of the Stitch22 project. This week I'm introducing you to interesting ways of stitching 'on the edge'. This involves making folds or tucks in your fabric and adding decorative stitching along the folded edges. Please enjoy this short video and the attached samples. https://youtu.be/GqdPvEKBDb8 You'll need your iron close to hand to make the folds and also think of some perhaps humourous ideas for secrets that hide under the folds.

Week 18 of the Stitch22 Project. This week I introduce you to 'applied' stitching - stitches to apply fabric shapes to a surface. (Think of the way the scarecrow sews his patch onto his trousers!). Please watch this short video and look at the series of stitched examples - each method is shown in a series of four working stages.
