‼️ EGM ‼️
Due to the current situation preschool is facing we are hosting an EGM on the 2nd September at 6pm.
The purpose of this is to give you an opportunity to hear what we have to say about the current situation and have a final vote on the future of preschool.
Funding has temporarily stopped until county have their meeting once the Ofsted report is live. This means current children will have to pay their hours at preschool until further notice. We also would need a minimum of 15 children to be financially stable which we do not currently.
Our committee also would need all parents to be members/trustees as currently we do not have enough members to open regardless of funding. Unfortunately this is a constant battle for us as a charity run preschool unfortunately this is a non negotiable.
If no parents come, the vote will be made by the committee.
Please let us know if you will be attending
Thank you

The children enjoyed taking part in our vet's role play yesterday. They patiently waited in the waiting area for their turn before taking their pets to see the vet. They loved caring for the animals, talking about what might be wrong with them and helping to make them feel better 🐾
We shared a factual book all about frogs, with the children asking some great questions as we discovered different types of frogs and how they avoid predators. Afterwards, we had lots of fun hopping around pretending to be the frogs we had learned about 🐸
At the water tray, the children explored the plastic flowers, talking about the colours and seeing how many they could stack before they toppled over. They also compared the safari animals to find which ones were plastic and could safely go in the water tray. The children then gave the animals a drink while talking about how important water is for our bodies, especially in the warm weather! 🌸

We started the morning with a lovely Show and Tell session, where the children took turns to share their special items and asked each other lots of questions. We also enjoyed exploring with paint, using a variety of materials to create different patterns and textures on our paper 🎨
Outside, the children filled tractor trailers with farm animals, predicting how many were inside before counting them out to see whose guess was closest. They used water and paintbrushes to draw shapes on the wall and had fun racing cars down the track, counting how many times each car won 🏆
The children showed great teamwork and problem-solving when they realised there weren't enough wooden blocks for everyone to build their own house. They worked together to combine their creations into one large house instead! 🧱

We have had lots of fun outside today! ☀️
The children used a tape measure to compare who was taller and shorter, marking their friends’ heights with chalk. They also worked together to build car racetracks, making predictions about which cars would travel the fastest and experimenting with how many blocks were needed to stop them 🚗
At the water tray, we discussed why some objects sink and others float. We had fun trying to move water quickly enough to make the water spinner spin for longer 💧
The children loved exploring the field in the shade, collecting leaves to compare different shapes and sizes, creating bark rubbings, and joining in with Song Sack 🌿
Inside, the children painted with a variety of tools and talked about the marks they’d made, such as bubbles and flower heads. They also created adventurous stories in the animal tuff tray, using oats as sand and green tissue paper as grass while talking about different animal habitats 🐘

We kicked off Insect Week with a bug hunt in the shade, carefully searching under branches and in the long grass. The children also used a range of materials to create homes for toy bugs, with lots of conversations about different habitats 🐞
We enjoyed reading our story of the week, Handa’s Surprise, outside today and had fun experimenting with water and pom-poms, working together to position and adjust the track until it could carry the pom-poms from one tray to another 📖
The children showed great perseverance while climbing the lower branches of a tree, and everyone enjoyed swinging from them! 🌳
During circle time, we looked at different ways to keep ourselves safe in the sun. The children then decorated sun hats, choosing different materials and talking about why we wear them ☀️
We also practised sorting recycling, discussing why it’s important and how it helps to look after our environment ♻️
