Your 60s are a new chapter, not an ending.

This is a decade of transition, whether retirement has just started or is just around the corner.
It is a time to step back and get really clear on your money, so you can enjoy the freedom you have worked for.

Start by understanding your income plan, where your money is coming from, how long it needs to last, and what that means for your lifestyle.

You may also notice your spending changes. Less commuting, more travel, different priorities. This is normal, but it is worth keeping an eye on.

You do not necessarily need to move everything into “ultra-safe” mode either. Many people still need some growth in their money over time, just with a more balanced approach.

This is also the perfect moment to simplify. Fewer accounts, less admin, more clarity over what you actually have and where it is.

It is important to make sure your will and lasting power of attorney are up to date, and that your family knows where things are if they are ever needed.

And while money is important, this decade is also about wellbeing, staying active, connected, and making space for what brings you joy.

You have built the foundations. Now it is about enjoying them with confidence and clarity.

Your 40s can feel like everything happening at once.

Career, children, parents, mortgage, money. Life is full, and time is limited.

But this is also a decade where small, steady decisions really shape what comes next.
It might be checking your insurance still fits your life, especially if others rely on your income.

Staying consistent with saving, even when costs feel high, so your future does not get pushed aside.
Looking at your mortgage and seeing if small changes could make a long-term difference.

Making sure your will is in place or up to date, so everything is clear for the people you love.
Keeping an eye on retirement planning, because it is much harder to catch up later.
And making sure you and your partner are aligned on the family finances.

You do not need to do everything at once. Just stay engaged.

Estate planning doesn't need to be complicated, but it's crucial for securing your future.

Let’s clear up some common myths about wills and power of attorney:

✅ You’re never too young to write a will.

✅ A will isn’t just for the wealthy - it’s for anyone who wants their family protected.

✅ Having a power of attorney in place gives you peace of mind - and you can do this at any age!

In the SheFinance workbook, I break down these topics in a straightforward, easy-to-understand way so you can plan confidently.

Your 30s can feel like everything is happening at once.

Career growth, relationships, possibly children, bigger responsibilities. Money can start to feel stretched in every direction.

This is the decade where your habits really start shaping your long-term financial future.

Focus on what matters most:
Understand your credit, it affects mortgages, loans, and more.

Start or stay consistent with saving, even small amounts build real momentum.

Talk about money if you are in a relationship, clarity now prevents stress later.

Protect your income with insurance if others rely on you.
Keep investing in your career and earning potential.

Plan ahead if children are part of your future.

Watch lifestyle creep so raises do not disappear as quickly as they arrive.

You do not need to do it all at once. Just stay intentional.

If you are new here, welcome to SheFinance. 🩷

And if you have been here a while, thank you for being part of this growing community of women building confidence with money in 2026.

I’m Gretchen, financial planner, founder of SheFinance, cat mum, interiors lover, and a big believer that money confidence genuinely changes how you live your life.

My focus is simple: helping women feel calm, clear, and in control of their finances. Because when you understand your money, you create more choice, and that changes everything.

Money does not have to feel overwhelming or out of reach. With the right tools and a bit of clarity, it becomes something you can actually feel comfortable with.

That is exactly why I created SheFinance: The Workbook, a practical, supportive guide that helps women across the UK take real steps with their financial future.

I would love to know, as we move through 2026, what is one financial goal you are focusing on this year?
