Bridge of Allan judo club would like to wish Jonathan all the best and offer our thanks, for all the years after his tough decision to retire from the sport. Jonathan is a multi disciplined martial-artist and has been a part of the club for nearly 30 years. Starting his judo journey at 10 years old and progressing all the way. Always willing to share wisdom, a story and welcoming to new players, he will be greatly missed. Don’t be a stranger Jonathan and we wish you all the best! 🥋 🤝

The club was honoured to have athletes representing Botswana at the upcoming commonwealth games visit on Tuesday, along with head coach René William Matiké Ndoumbé. Fantastic experience gained for our members and a chance to go up against some tough national judoka. We wish them the best of luck in the upcoming competition and thank them for choosing our club to train at whilst visiting 🥋 🇧🇼

A big thank you to ClubSport Stirling and Vekic Photography in helping share Sasha's story with the club since he arrived in Scotland.

Oleksandr Ostrikov has been hard at work honing his judo skills at Bridge of Allan Judo Club after he fled the Russian invasion of his country in 2022.

'Getting to Grips- How Bridge of Allan Judo Club have supported a Ukrainian Family transition to living in Scotland'

Oleksandr and his family Lesya & Kiril were resettled in Scotland following the conflict in Ukraine in July 2022. With the help of his sponsor family, Oleksandr started attending Bridge of Allan Judo to continue his passion for the sport. Within that time Oleksandr has made many great connections, progressed in the sport, and is now pursuing an education and career in sport.

We were fortunate to meet with Oleksandr, his sponsor John Biagi and Michael Durrington from the club at a recent training session to hear more about his experience. Heartfelt, inspiring and a fantastic message about the power of sport that we are proud to share in our latest Actify module.
