🥋 Karate Club with Sensei Harry!🥋

A huge thank you to Sensei Harry, who delivered a fantastic assembly today and gave the children a brilliant introduction to his karate club.

The club is a fantastic opportunity for children to:
✨ Build confidence and self-esteem
🥋 Learn valuable self-defence and life skills
💪 Improve fitness, strength and coordination
🌟 Develop focus, discipline and perseverance
😊 Have fun and make new friends!

Karate Club takes place on Tuesday mornings at 8am at school.

We’re delighted to be able to offer this fantastic club to our children! 🥋🌟

🌳 Class 1’s first Forest School session! 🌳

This week’s focus was road safety, and Class 1 did a fantastic job on their first session! They practised crossing the road safely, thinking carefully about what to look and listen for.

Nearby the school, the children identified evergreen trees, collected conkers and explored the Church, making links to their RE and History learning.

What a fabulous first session, Class 1 were absolute superstars!

Finche Community Group has kindly tasked us with selling 200 ducks for next week’s duck race! 🏁

The ducks are £2 each, and any profits made will very generously be donated to the school. 💙

Please get in touch with family and friends and help us sell as many ducks as possible!

We are so fortunate to have the support of Finche Community Group, who provide free football lessons and have also provided swimming lessons for our children. Let’s show them as much support as we can and help make the duck race a huge success! 🦆👏

And just like that… it’s time for a new adventure!

To our wonderful Year 6 Class of 2026, we are so incredibly proud of you and all you have achieved during your time at Finchingfield.

As you head off to your new schools, embrace every opportunity, make wonderful memories and always remember to live life in all its fullness. ✨

You may be leaving our classrooms, but you’ll always be part of the Finchingfield family. ❤️

A final Year 6 tradition... shirt signing!

On Friday, our Year 6 children attended the Church Leavers' Service, where they beautifully sang “Thank You” by iSingPOP.

As the song began, Charlotte asked if she could go to the front and perform the actions. Asha happily joined her, and before we knew it, more and more of our children came forward to join in. It became a wonderful spontaneous "flash mob" of singing, smiles and joyful actions!

It was such a special moment and a true reflection of our school family, children encouraging one another, showing confidence, kindness and belonging. Our children weren't asked to come to the front; they simply wanted to be part of the moment together. That's who we are. That's our family.

We are incredibly proud of every one of our children. ❤️
