🦁🐺 Zoo Trip! 🐒🐊

Lots of fun was had earlier this week when we joined Debbie’s Day Care for a fantastic day at the zoo! 🥰

The children had such a wonderful time exploring, discovering and learning about all the amazing animals around us. 🌿🦒

They particularly loved the train ride 🚂, getting a fantastic close-up view of the wolves 🐺, spotting the crocodile lurking in the water 🐊, and enjoying the lemur tour 🐒 — there was so much to see and talk about!

We encouraged the children to use their senses, notice differences between the animals, talk about what they could see and hear, and share their thoughts and ideas with their friends. 💬👀

A brilliant day filled with exploring, curiosity, new experiences, physical activity and lots of learning through play! 🌿❤️

🌿✨ What a wonderful, fun-filled day we’ve had at the Discovery Centre! 🥰

We wrapped up warm and headed out for a day full of exploring, discovering and learning through play. The weather certainly didn’t stop us — in fact, it made our adventure even more exciting! ☔️🌧️

We had so much fun digging, scooping and creating in the sand, using our imaginations and developing those important little hand and arm muscles along the way. 🪣🏖️

We then headed over to the park for lots of climbing, balancing, running and exploring. It was fantastic watching the children challenge themselves, build confidence and practise their physical skills whilst having so much fun! 🌳🧗‍♀️

And there was even more excitement when we spotted a BIG tractor cutting back the bushes! 🚜👀 We stopped to watch and talked about what it was doing, why it might be needed and how the machinery works. We also spotted some beautiful horses 🐴, which gave us another wonderful opportunity to observe, talk, ask questions and share our ideas.

There were so many opportunities today to develop communication and language, physical development, understanding the world, confidence and curiosity — all through natural, meaningful experiences and child-led play. ❤️

Lots of little questions, lots of exploring, lots of excitement and plenty of muddy adventures! 🌿☔️🥰

Another wonderful day of learning through real-life experiences and making memories together! ❤️

🍂 A little autumn adventure at Danbury Lakes! 🍂

What a wonderful day we’ve had exploring, discovering and learning in the great outdoors 🥰🌳

There were so many little treasures to spot along the way! We found holly berries beginning to turn red ❤️, crunchy chestnuts still tucked inside their prickly shells 🌰 and tiny baby pine cones 🌲 — lots of signs that autumn is well and truly here… although spotting those red berries had us wondering if Christmas might be sneaking up on us already! 🎄😂

The ducks were also very pleased to see us and kept us entertained with plenty of quacking 🦆🤣

As we explored, we talked about some of our autumn key words — nocturnal, hibernation and migration — and thought about which animals might be getting ready for the changing season. The children loved sharing their ideas and spotting examples around us.

We found the perfect peaceful spot by the lake to enjoy our story of the week, bear snores on which links beautifully with our learning about hibernation 📖🍂. We then got creative with some autumn stencil colouring, taking inspiration from everything we had discovered on our walk.

A day full of fresh air, curiosity, conversation, imagination and lots of little discoveries — learning really does happen everywhere when we take the time to explore! 🥰🍁🌳

🥰 Small Talk Playgroup 🥰

We absolutely loved getting back to our usual playgroup this week! ❤️

The children really thrive in a new environment, exploring different toys, crafts and activities, and it’s so lovely to see them showing such wonderful manners, turn-taking and sharing while we’re there. 🥰

I’m always so proud when we receive compliments about their lovely behaviour and manners — it really does make my heart happy! ❤️

With most of the children returning today after the summer holidays, and a new little starter joining us, we had a wonderful day exploring our new theme and season — Autumn! 🍂🍁

We teamed up with Debbie’s Day Care and headed outdoors to explore all that autumn has to offer. The children collected lots of different coloured, crunchy leaves, which they used to create their very own beautiful hedgehog masterpieces. 🦔🍂

We then settled down for some outdoor circle time, where we learned all about migration, hibernation and nocturnal animals using our flashcards and discussion. We also enjoyed listening to our Book of the Week, Tales from Acorn Wood. 📚🐿️🦉

The children really enjoyed exploring, learning and spending time together outdoors. What a fantastic start to the new term, filled with real-life outdoor learning, discovery and lots of autumn adventures! 🧡🍁🍂

🍂 What a lovely first day back we have had! 🍂❤️

We enjoyed a beautiful autumn walk exploring the fields and collecting conkers along the way. 🌰🍁 We then had our introduction to autumn with the lovely book Tales of Acorn wood, followed by some autumn-themed playdough and exploring our autumn animals. 🦔🦊🍂

Today has been such a hard and emotional day. 😢❤️

I absolutely hate saying goodbye to Mr G and Miss D. I’ve had Mr G since he was just 8 months old and Miss D since she was 2, so they truly have become such a huge part of our family. My very first mindees and two very special little ones who will always hold a place in our hearts. 🥹❤️

Mum and Dad have been the kindest, most wonderful family and have always worked alongside me as a team. You have two amazing children and I feel so lucky to have been part of their lives and watched them grow.

I wish Mr G the very best of luck as he starts school, and Miss D all the happiness in the world as she enters Year 3. I know you’ll both be amazing! 🥰

Thank you so much for all my beautiful, heartfelt gifts and for going to so much effort — it honestly means more than you know. ❤️

You will forever be in our hearts. We love you all lots and lots. 😘❤️ xx

🍎🫐 Making Blackberry & Apple Crumble! 🥰

The children loved picking fresh blackberries, bringing them home, washing them and then making our delicious crumble together! ❤️

The children washed their hands, independently chopped the apples and helped mix all the ingredients together. We named each ingredient, measured, poured, chopped and mixed — developing lots of valuable EYFS skills through hands-on cooking! 👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳

Lots of messy fun, teamwork, confidence-building and tasting along the way! 😋🥰

We had a wonderful trip to the Discovery Centre this week! 🥰

The children really challenged themselves on the climbing equipment, building confidence, strength and physical skills, and had lots of fun exploring the new sand play toys available to them! 🏖️❤️

A lovely day of learning, exploring and having fun together! 🌟
