🚜🎢 OLD MACDONALD HAD A FARM 🎢🚜

Our children in our owls room have enjoyed the sensory experience of a messy farm, linking in to their song of the fortnight. They had lots of fun talking about their own farm visit experiences, and a particular focus on animal names and sounds.

This week, our baby room have been talking about the first signs of spring and what the change in season brings. Emma brought in some daffodils for the babies to explore. Some had opened and bloomed whereas some were still a closed bud. We talked about the growing process and enjoyed feeling their texture and exploring their scent.

We then took our daffodils and used them as natural paint brushes, dipping them in to some brightly coloured paints and using them to mark make on our paper. πŸ’

Flower Hammering πŸ”¨

Last week the preschoolers tested their hammering skills! The children were given a selection of coloured petals, which they placed between two pieces of fabric. They then used a hammer to strike the fabric, releasing the vibrant colours from the petals. The children were able to remember the forest school rules of using the hammer and showed amazing control!

We then went onto climbing an obstacle course and putting our gross motorskills to the test

Our children in Owls room enjoyed celebrating Valentines day by incorporating it in to an activity based on their song of the week - "5 currant buns". Making special "buns" and chatting about who they love.
