You could be eligible for up to 30 hours of free childcare each week through the Free Childcare for Working Parents scheme. Don’t miss the 31 August 2026 deadline to receive your childcare eligibility code for a September start.

For the Free Childcare for Working Parents scheme:
✔ Your child must be at least 9 months old by 31 August 2026
✔ Check if you are eligible for this scheme or a different childcare scheme.
✔ Apply through a GOV.UK childcare account (you can register online)
✔ Receive your eligibility code before 31 August 2026

Thank you to our families who attended our graduation this morning. It is always with mixed feelings that we say goodbye to our school leavers, we are sad to say goodbye but happy to watch them fly!

If your child gets benefit-based free school meals or has special educational needs or disabilities, they are eligible for a free place at a HAF holiday club during the upcoming school holidays.

There are more 100 HAF holiday clubs running this summer. They are at locations across the district and offer lots of different activities and experiences. They are a great place for your child to have fun and make friends. They also get a free healthy meal when they are at the club.

Places are limited and are filling up so don’t delay, see what clubs are running near you and book your child a place now so they don’t miss out.

The children have been using a range of tools and equipment today to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and use their imaginations ✍️✂️✏️🖍️📎✉️

Starting school reception in September? Your school nursing team wants to help your child have the best start possible to their learning journey.

Find out more at these individual, bookable, free “Ready to Learn” sessions.

The team will be sharing tips and advice to help your child:

- Get dressed on their own - putting on and taking off their coat
- Eat without help, using a knife, fork and spoon
- Go to the toilet without help
- Listen to their teacher - you'll find out how to help your child concentrate and engage in school, as well as the importance of sleep and bedtime routine
- Get ready to write - for example using a crayon for colouring or drawing
- Feel confident and happy - so they settle quicker when you leave them at school.
