Bubbly and spirited with a love for gymnastics. An all round funny and entertaining girl. This is how Evie’s family describe her. Words that many may use to describe their 11-year-old daughter
but Evie isn’t like all other 11-year-old girls.
Evie has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia and myelodysplastic syndrome.
This is Evie’s third diagnosis, having first been diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2014. Evie now desperately needs a second blood stem cell donation, which doctors have confirmed Evie needs as soon as possible for her best chance of survival.
Evie and her family are now asking as many people as possible to register as potential blood stem cell donors, as part of their appeal. Could you be the matching blood stem cell donor that Evie or someone like her is looking for?

Meet Mel from Leeds. She has been fighting aplastic anaemia since she was 8 years old and doctors have now diagnosed her with myelodysplasia anaemia. Mel’s diagnosis is rare and she’s facing a lot of uncertainty but she has been told that her best chance of survival is a blood stem cell donation from a matching donor.
Since a match hasn’t been found in Mel’s family, she and her family have launched a appeal encouraging people from all backgrounds, especially those with mixed heritage like Mel, to register as potential blood stem cell donors.
