We are all about Family! Being a family run business we know what it means to have meaningful experiences with our loved ones that last forever. We run a mix of taster sessions in our activities which are open to all ages from 6 and up. Many of our activities can be combined to make a full family day out and for those who want a little something extra we can provide a bespoke package for your next holiday or family getaway. Individuals are more than welcome to come along to any of our taster sessions or develop your own adventure with one of our team here at River and Dale Adventures. We offer a variety of development courses in Navigation, Paddle sports and Climbing that might just help you to explore the great outdoors with a little more confidence and enjoyment. If you are a business or school/ academy looking for some team building, problem solving or group-based activities then we can help with that. We have a comprehensive mobile team building kit, highly experienced instructors who have worked in or with schools and corporations for years and a passion to bring out the best in everyone we work with. 🍂 OCTOBER HALF-TERM ADVENTURE CLUB IN SHIPLEY! 🍂

Looking for something exciting to keep the children active this October half term?

RAD Adventurers Holiday Club is running from Monday 26th to Friday 30th October at JT Martial Arts in Shipley—and bookings are now open!

Designed for children aged 7–13, our action-packed programme can include:

🏄 Stand-up paddleboarding
🏹 Soft archery and axe throwing
🧭 Navigation skills
🔥 Bushcraft and camp craft
⛑️ First-aid skills
🤝 Team-building and problem-solving challenges
🎯 Team games and outdoor adventures

📅 Monday 26th–Friday 30th October
⏰ 8:30am–5:00pm
📍 JT Martial Arts, 18 Otley Road, Shipley, BD17 7DU

Got a few spaces available for our local canal clean up this coming Sunday over at Rodley near Leeds, who’s keen?

Come along and join me on Sunday morning to give the stretch of canal near The Tiny Tea Room, Rodley a bit of a tidy up. Reach the areas that usual volunteer litter pickers can’t reach by floating along on a paddleboard.

No experience is required and all equipment is provided. Just come along, meet some other like-minded people and enjoy a couple of hours out on the water, while doing something good for the environment.

What did you get up to yesterday?

We were working with My Expedition Rocks on their climbing club over at The Climbing Hub in Bradford.
More than just 3-hours of climbing for the young ones, we focus on developing their skills, their confidence, their independence and their passion in the awesome sport that is rock climbing 🧗‍♂️

This week we trained our hanging strength before getting on some lead climbs and tricky boulder problems.
Last week we got them to peer coach each other and then perform a TTPP Analysis of their own climbing (second photo), a tool we will be able to repeat and see how their performance has changed by the end of the term.

RIP to the old van 😢
My trustee (less so recently) old van is no more. Driving home from its MOT the other day to have this noise suddenly start, followed by a loss of the power steering and stop light and low battery notifications. Multi-system failure that is just too costly to repair/replace.
Parked at the top of my street and stripping it down while I source another vehicle to take its place.

Many great trips were had, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 multiple times, North Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 more times than I can count, the Lake District as often as I could, the Yorkshire Dales almost weekly, the South of England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿to visit family and most recently a climbing trip down to Portland 🧗.

She will be missed but here is to new adventures!

1-day Emergency Outdoor First Aid Courses = £90pp

That’s a wrap for our last volunteer canal clean up for for 2025.

6 volunteers came and joined me on Saturday afternoon on the Leeds Liverpool canal near Kirkstall, Leeds.
They pulled all manor of things out of the water, including a camping toilet, large seat cushion, bike tyre, the usual selection of cans and bottles but most surprisingly a complete, albeit very rusty, desktop PC!

These clean ups wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers, so if you’re interested in coming along and helping out on of our clean ups next year check out and we’ll see you there.
