🌳🛝 A Trip to the Park! 🛝🌳
What a wonderful time our preschool children had on their trip to the park! 😊💚
The children showed fantastic climbing and balancing skills as they explored the playground equipment. 🧗‍♀️🤸‍♂️ They carefully climbed, balanced, stretched and moved their bodies in different ways, building their confidence, coordination and physical skills along the way! 🌟👏
🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ We were also so proud of how safely the children walked to the park. They used their listening ears 👂, followed instructions and made sure they held the hand of their partner 🤝 as they walked together.
Its a lovely opportunity to develop our physical skills, independence, confidence and road safety awareness while having lots of fun outdoors! 🌈🌿

A new month, a fresh start and the beginning of one of our favourite cosy seasons. 🤎

As we welcome September, we’re looking forward to lots of lovely moments across our nursery family — autumn walks, cosy activities, baking, exploring nature, learning new things and making special memories together.

Thank you, as always, to all of our wonderful families for your continued support and for trusting us to be part of your little ones’ journeys. It really does mean so much to us. 🫶

🌟Sundown Adventureland!🌟

Our Holiday Club had an absolutely amazing day out at Sundown Adventureland! 🎢🐻🌈

From start to finish, there were smiles, laughter, adventures and plenty of fun! The children had the BEST time exploring, playing and making memories together. 🥰

And the highlight of the day? One of our children actually said “it was the best day of her life!” 🤣❤️

I think that just about sums up how much fun they had! What more could we ask for? 😍

Getting Ready for School 🎒

To help prepare our Preschool children for their exciting next step, we have introduced a School Readiness Corner. Through meaningful, everyday play experiences, the children can explore what starting school may look and feel like, helping to build their confidence, independence and build positive associations as they get ready for this important transition✨

The children can explore lots of aspects of starting school, including getting dressed in school uniform, practising putting on their own shoes and socks, using a book bag and sharing stories about starting school. They can also explore healthy packed lunch choices, encouraging conversations about the foods that help keep our bodies healthy and give them lots of energy for a busy school day 🍎

School readiness isn’t just about letters and numbers – it’s about helping children feel confident, capable and excited for their next big adventure 🌟

🫐 Berry Crumble 🫐

As part of our Follow the Yellow Brick Road Curriculum, the children enjoyed assembling a delicious homemade Berry Crumble ❤️

How did our babies make their Berry Crumble?✨

🍓1. The Berries were hand picked by the children
🍓2. We washed all the Berries to ensure they were safe & clean
🍓3. Each child put the berries into their foil tray
🍓4. The Crumble topping ingredients were all squished & squashed by tiny little hands
🍓5. The Crumble was then scooped up and poured on top of the fruit.

This experience supported sensory exploration, fine motor skills, independence, colour and texture opportunities. To us at Yellow Brick Road, it is important that all children including our youngest are involved in meaningful, real-life experiences 🧑🏻‍🍳

Today, the Kids Club spread some kindness throughout our local community by giving flowers 🌷 to staff and nearby local businesses.

It was lovely to see the children’s acts of kindness returned, with local businesses treating them to lollipops 🍭 and refreshing drinks. The children were delighted by the generosity and enjoyed making positive connections within the community. 😊💕

The children also encouraged staff to write something positive about one another 📝💬, helping to spread kind words, smiles and positivity throughout Yellow Brick Road. 🌈✨

It was wonderful to see the children embracing kindness, positivity and community spirit. 💐💛🌟

Did you know that local statistics show that around 1 in 4 children experience dental decay?

Supporting children's health and wellbeing is incredibly important to us, which is why we have created our new Toothbrushing Take-Home Bags! 🪥💛

Every few days a child will have the opportunity to take one of our bags home to enjoy with their family. Inside you'll find:

📖 A story to enjoy together
🪥 A toothbrush & toothpaste
⏳ Toothbrushing timers
🦷 A friendly puppet to make brushing fun!

The aim is to make learning about oral health fun, positive and engaging, while helping children develop healthy habits 🪥

We'd love for you to share photos or tell us how you got on with your toothbrushing bag when youre ready return it 📷
