It is only a matter of time before what you are protecting strips away everything you have worked for.
.
No one questions you.
Why would they?
You show up.
You perform.
You handle pressure better than most.
From the outside, there’s no reason to look deeper.
And that’s exactly what protects it.
Because high performance creates space to hide.
It gives you leverage—
to normalise what wouldn’t be acceptable in anyone else.
“To unwind.”
“To switch off.”
“To take the edge off.”
But if it was just that…
you wouldn’t need it as often as you do.
And you wouldn’t think about it as much when you’re not.
At a certain level, it stops being a reward.
It becomes something you rely on
to keep being who everyone expects you to be.
If your success is carrying something you haven’t addressed, it’s only a matter of time.
For those ready to face what your success has been protecting, the next step for a discreet conversation is in the link on this page.

Unmanageable doesn’t always look like chaos on the outside—sometimes it’s internal.
Either way, staying the same isn’t the answer.
This speaks to a shift & lays out another way forward.
My name is Jon Radcliffe. I’m a Sober Resilience Coach, passionate about helping people in recovery rebuild inner strength, regain clarity, and create a solid, fulfilling life in sobriety.
I support people to rise after setbacks, strengthen their resilience, and live sober with confidence, purpose, and conviction.
Although I grew up surrounded by love and care, I carried a persistent sense of emptiness from an early age. I was a bright kid with high expectations placed on me — expectations I quickly internalised. No matter what I achieved, it never felt enough.
Throughout my teenage years and early adulthood, I searched for fulfilment through friendships, hobbies, and achievement, but nothing settled the unrest. At 15, alcohol and drugs entered my life and became a way of coping. What began as relief gradually turned into dependence, eroding my ability to cope with life on life’s terms.
After struggling through education and work while my substance use escalated, I entered residential rehabilitation. Twenty years ago, after nine months in an intensive programme, I emerged with a commitment to rebuild my life from the inside out. That journey led me back to the same treatment centre, where I have supported others for the past eighteen years.
Nine years ago, despite being clean and sober, I realised that sobriety alone wasn’t enough. I lacked the emotional and psychological resilience to fully engage with life. This became a turning point.
Through life coaching and deep inner work, I challenged long-held limiting beliefs, learned how fear had shaped my life, and developed practical tools to strengthen resilience. I gained clarity, focus, and the ability to move through fear rather than be controlled by it.
Helping others has always been central to my recovery. Today, I work with people who are sober but feel stuck, unfulfilled, or disconnected — people in recovery who know there’s more available to them.
I help people in recovery build:
*Sober resilience
*Emotional stability and confidence
*Clarity and direction
*Structure and follow-through
*The courage to step beyond comfort zones
How I Can Help
*Accredited life coach
*18 years’ experience supporting people into recovery and personal growth
*30+ years working closely with people
*Lived experience of addiction, recovery, and rebuilding resilience
If you’re sober but struggling to feel steady, confident, or fulfilled, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Let’s arrange a call and explore how strengthening your sober resilience can help you create a life that feels solid, purposeful, and meaningful.

If we are to change who we are & improve our lives. we have to make conscious decisions to stop doing what we normally do and start doing things differently.
This comes through awareness of our normal patterns of behaviour and implementing new patterns to replace what we always do.
Learning to question our actions and self-discipline to take new paths takes practice, but if we really want those improvements and a different, better us, commitment and persistence to new ways of being are key.
Giving ourselves permission to new ways of being and focusing on the benefits of change, places us in the driver’s seat to create the life we desire.
Have an awesome Monday folks 😎

When I speak down to myself, beat myself up incessantly & down play my abilities, my behaviours come out sideways.
Ultimately leading to my behaviour being negative, so my destiny is always heading in a negative & destructive direction.
When I am kinder to myself, give myself some slack and recognise my efforts, my mistakes for what they are and give myself encouragement to keep pushing forward, my behaviour radiates a higher positive vibe.
I feel better about me & in turn look kinder to those around me.
From experience when I’m coming from a more positive mental state towards myself, others and life, my destiny begins to manifest a clearer path for me to walk & opportunities show up.
So how are you speaking to yourself today?
Is it in a derogatory manner with put downs creating mental harm to yourself?
Are you being kind, loving & positive to yourself, allowing yourself the opportunity to shine brighter?
From experience I choose wisely the latter.
I hope you do too 🙏🏽

Good Morning 😎
We may have made mistakes, we have made bad choices and trusted the wrong people.
Trial and error is part of life.
It’s doesn’t mean you have to be defined by those trials and errors, in fact through experience and lessons learned you can hold onto those realisations and make better choices.
Don’t sell yourself short and settle for what you’ve accepted in the past.
Know your real worth, see those trial and errors as stepping stones to something better and make choices that reflect what you are truly deserve 🙏🏼

We are all perfectly imperfect!
A hard fact to accept if you have perfectionist expectations on yourself.
But the reality is when we learn to accept ourselves and our imperfections we have a chance to not only embrace who we really are, but allow ourselves to be authentic and give the world the gift of our unique qualities.
I’m not sure what perfect is!
I searched for years on some fruitless quest to reach some unrealistic level of how I should be, how I should act, at what level my actions should be presented to the outside world……and I never ever reached these self-imposed levels of perfection.
It was a perpetual cycle of failing and feeling like a total failure.
This failure led to me believing that I was not enough, that I was unworthy and therefore unloveable.
The truth is, if you ask me what I see perfect as being I cannot give you a definitive answer.
It changes as quick as I think I have it worked out in my mind as I then think of something else that needs to be included in the answer. Something extra, something better……all of it a fantasy playing out in my mind.
What I have learned is the necessity to give me some grace.
To be more accepting that I WILL make mistakes. I won’t ever reach a level of perfect in my actions.
Over time I’ve also, through real connection with others that being worthy and being loveable has nothing to do with any level of perfection.
We all have flaws, we all are not perfect.
Yet we all have something unique to bring to the table and that creates more belonging and love than any level of perfection can ever deliver.
When you find yourself reaching for perfect and find yourself never reaching it, give yourself grace.
Being perfectly imperfect is more than ok. You still have a place at the table in life 🙏🏼
