Booking is now open for our February half-term course on Monday and Tuesday 16th & 17th February 2026 (10am-4pm) £60 per child or £100 for 2 children in the same family.

The following sessions are available. Choose one activity from each group.

Group A
• Rock School (Keyboard, Guitar/Ukulele, Bass, Drums): Work on playing a popular song to perform alongside Rock choir
• Rock Choir: Sing as a group with our Rock School band

Group B
• Body Percussion: Making rhythmic music using different body sounds
• Improver Keyboards: Group keyboard session. Min 6 months experience required
• Harmony Choir: Learn to sing in parts or learn simple harmonies
• Rhythm Cups: Creating fun rhythmic patterns using cups
• Improver Recorders: Group session. Descant & treble recorders. Must know BAG&E

Group C
• Orchestra: For players of brass, strings, woodwind or percussion.
• Beginner Keyboards: For complete beginners or recently started – 12 spaces
• Solo Singing: Sing a solo line or two in a group song – 12 spaces
• Samba Drumming: Rhythmic patterns and movement using drums and percussion
• Beginner Bass: For those new to bass guitar – 4 spaces

Group D
• Djembe Drumming: Group African drumming patterns
• Tuned Percussion: Learn to play melodic parts using a range of tuned percussion instruments eg Glockenspiels, Chime bars or Boomwhackers
• Musical Theatre Choir: Sing songs from your favourite musicals
• Ukulele: Learn to play the first few chords
• Improver Bass: For those with experience or tried previous bass tasters – 4 spaces
• Beginner Recorder: Instruments will be provided

Thank you to the Newmarket Journal for visiting us at the Bottisham Village College Christmas Fair. Here we are in this week's paper.

We had so much fun rehearsing and performing for this event and we can't wait to get started again in January.

We would love to hear from pupils in Y3-7 who would like to come and join our Saturday School Rock School or Orchestra.

We had a wonderful time performing at the Bottisham Village College Christmas fair at the weekend. Our first ever public performance and our audience loved it!

This weekend is our final session before we break up for Christmas. Term starts again on Saturday 10th January. We will be running an orchestra from 9-10am as well as Rock School 10-11am.

Wanting to join our October half-term workshops but don't know what groups to choose?

Option A:
Rock School - for guitars, keyboards and drummers with at least 6 months experience. Bass players must have 6 months experience on any instrument.
Rock Choir - This is for anyone who likes to sing. Rock school and rock choir will be working on the same song and come together to perform.

Option B:
Beginner Ukulele - Open to all
Improver Keyboard - Min 6 months experience needed
Djembe Drumming - Open to all
Musical Theatre Choir - Open to all

Option C:
Samba Drumming - Open to all
Beginner Keyboard - Open to all
Boomwhackers & Bells - Open to all
Solo Singing - For singers who would like to sing a line or 2 as a solo

Option D:
Orchestra - For players of brass, strings, percussion or keyboard with a minimum of 6 months experience. Keyboard players may be asked to play percussion
Rhythm Cups - Using plastic cups to create fun rhythm patterns
Choir - Open to all

Bottisham Music Centre is open to all budding musicians currently in school years 3-7. Our holiday workshops cater for all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced musicians.

This is a 2-day course in which students will take part in workshop sessions that will develop a wide range of music making skills and provide opportunities to learn and perform with other young musicians. The workshop will culminate in a performance to family and friends to showcase our work.

Bottisham Music Centre is open to all budding musicians currently in school years 3-7. Our holiday workshops cater for all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced musicians.
