What a wonderful, busy time weโ€™ve been having at Tiddlywinks! ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽจ

Our little explorers have been getting stuck into messy play, embracing the opportunity to squish, splash, scoop, mix and create! ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿซง From sensory experiences to getting wonderfully messy, our children have been having so much fun while learning, exploring and developing those all-important skills along the way. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Weโ€™ve also been delighted to welcome some of our new starters and their families for our pre school transition Stay and Play sessions! ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’› It has been so lovely watching little ones explore our rooms, meet their new friends, get to know our wonderful practitioners and begin to feel comfortable in their new preschool environment.

There have been lots of smiles, curious little faces, happy chatter and, of course, plenty of play! ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’•

We know that starting preschool is a big step for little ones and their grown-ups, so weโ€™re so pleased to be able to make that transition as gentle, positive and exciting as possible. ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

This week our Hatchlings have been enjoying lots of exciting experiences inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ›

We explored the story through sensory play, using different textures, colours, smells and foods to encourage curiosity. The children enjoyed touching, exploring and tasting as well as developing their vocabulary and making connections with the story. ๐Ÿ‘ƒ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐Ÿ‘€

๐ŸŽ Promoting healthy eating
The story provided a wonderful opportunity to talk about healthy choices and the importance of eating a variety of fruit and vegetables. The children explored different fruits, talked about the colours we could see and about the foods that help our bodies grow and keep us healthy. ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅฆ

๐ŸŽจ Creative expression
We also got creative, using a range of materials, colours and techniques to create our very own Hungry Caterpillar artwork. This supported the childrenโ€™s fine motor skills, creativity and imagination ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ๐Ÿ›

Through one much-loved story, we have been able to support communication and language, sensory exploration, healthy lifestyles, physical development and creativity โ€” all while having lots of fun! โค๏ธ

As summer begins to come to an end, weโ€™re holding onto the sunshine and bringing plenty of colour into every day! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒˆ

As the weather changes, there are still so many opportunities for little ones to explore, create, discover and have fun. From colourful mark-making and messy play to outdoor adventures, we can make every day bright and joyful. ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŒธ

We have made wonderful memories this summer and we will continue to create new ones as we branch in to autumn ๐Ÿ

Another fun week filled with trips to the farm ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿšœ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŒพ, forest school adventures ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒค and solving crimes ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿšจ

The preschool children arrived to find the evil pea had been in their classroom over night and left lots of messy!! They worked together to find clues and help solve the mystery ๐Ÿ”

The toddlers have loved visiting forest school this week and learning about vegetables and flowers ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒธ seeing them grow and how we eat lots of tasty vegetables at lunch and tea ๐Ÿ˜‹

The babies have been getting messy during sensory play, using shaving foam and paints as well as water and sand!๐ŸŽจโœจ๏ธ

We love creating special memories together here at Tiddlywinks and we feel super lucky to have such a wonderful place to learm and explore โค๏ธ

โœจ๐Ÿฅบ A sad goodbye to our wonderful chef, Jo, as she hangs up her apron for the last time!๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿณ

Jo has been a very important part of the Tiddlywinks family since we opened the doors here in Boroughbridge but now itโ€™s time for her to put down her rolling pin and hang up her apron as she takes some well deserved time off ๐Ÿ’ซ

All of us here are incredibly grateful for all the delicious and nutritious food Jo has prepared and perfected for us over the last year and a half and both children and staff will miss her huge amounts!๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿฅฐ

We wish Jo all the best for the future and she has promised to visit from time to time. Thank you Jo โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ

This week, we have been diving into a world of messy play, creativity, and colourful fun! From squishing, splashing, painting, and mixing colours, every activity has encouraged curiosity, imagination, and hands-on learning ๐ŸŽจ

Messy play isn't just about getting messyโ€”it's a fantastic way for children to develop their fine motor skills, sensory awareness, confidence, and creativity. Watching colours mix, creating unique masterpieces, and exploring different textures helps children learn through play while having lots of fun!๐ŸŒŸ

We love seeing their smiling faces as they discover that there are colours all around usโ€”in nature, in our artwork, and in the wonderful world they explore every day.

Another fun filled week of learning here at Tiddlywinks! With lots of baking๐Ÿ•๐ŸŽ, forest schools ๐Ÿž๐ŸŒฟ, trips to the farm ๐Ÿท๐Ÿšœ and sensory experiences โœจ๏ธ๐ŸŒŒ

The children have been able to share experiences with their friends and make special memories in the summer sun โ˜€๏ธ There has been lots of learning opportunities to develop new skills and reach new milestones.

Here at Tiddlywinks, we believe children learn best through exciting, hands-on experiences. Our enrichment programme provides wonderful opportunities for children to explore, discover and develop new skills every day.

๐ŸŽจ In Art Studio sessions the children express their creativity, build confidence and develop their fine motor skills whilst using a range of resources, big and small to create exciting masterpieces

๐ŸŒณ During Forest School, we enjoy exploring the outdoors, problem-solving, taking managed risks and building resilience while connecting with nature. Having access to our very own forest school site and the farm allows the children to explore the world around us.

๐Ÿง In our baking classes the children develop early maths skills through measuring and counting, practise following instructions, and strengthen their hand-eye coordination while creating delicious treats.
๐ŸซงOur Baby sensory sessions gives the children chance to explore different textures using their senses developing manipulation and control of different tools as well as getting hands on in the textures
โšฝ Our Multi Sports sessions encourage children to stay active, improve their balance, coordination and teamwork, while supporting their physical development in a fun and engaging way.

These enriching experiences help our children grow in confidence, independence and curiosity, while developing important skills that support their learning both now and in the future.

It may not be coming home this time but the children here at Tiddlywinks have loved supporting the England team throughout the world cup tournament ๐Ÿ‘ and learning about countries around the world ๐ŸŒŽ

We have enjoyed lots of sensory experiences including mark making with red and white paint while listening to football songs. The preschool children have practiced their physical skills playing football with their friends, scoring goals and working together in teams โšฝ๏ธ

It has been lovely hearing the children talk about watching football at home with their families and we are so proud of how well the England team did at the world cup!!๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ๐Ÿ‘โšฝ๏ธโค๏ธ
