The Union of Palestinian Physicians in Europe – Sweden Branch, in collaboration with the Nordisk Foundation and Bema Foundation, has successfully contributed to the reopening of the Children's Neonatal Ward at Al-Khair Hospital, under the supervision of the Ministry of Health.
🩺👶 The ward has already begun receiving sick children, providing them with the essential healthcare they desperately need.
But this is only the beginning.
With your support and solidarity, we can ensure the continuity of this vital effort and keep standing by the healthcare sector during these challenging times.

🚑 Empowering future doctors to save lives! 🚑
The Palestinian Doctors Association in Europe (PALMED) Academy, in partnership with Hayat Center for Emergency Preparedness, has launched a "Training of Trainers (TOT) in First Aid" course for 100 fourth-year medical students at the Islamic University of Gaza.
✅ Goal: Prepare these students to become certified trainers, capable of teaching first aid skills to the community — enhancing emergency readiness across Gaza.
🗣️ Opening ceremony speakers included:
Dr. Ahmed Abu Nadi (PALMED Gaza Director)
Mr. Osama Khallah (PALMED Executive Director)
Dr. Bilal Dabour (Islamic University representative)
Dr. Hassan Al-Skafi (Palestinian Medical Forum)
The course covers: BLS, bleeding, burns, choking, fractures, fainting, shock, plus communication & training skills.
This is part of PALMED’s ongoing mission to support medical education and community resilience in Gaza despite all challenges.

Empower Future Healers in Gaza! 🌍🩺
Join PalMed Academy's vital Gaza Educate Medics (GEM) initiative, bringing together Palestinian doctors in Europe to support medical education in Gaza. Since its launch in June 2024, GEM has already supported 2,109 beneficiary students and aims to support 2,500 annually!
With over 1,000 volunteers worldwide, we've seen 613 doctors graduate and provide essential healthcare services. Your support helps continue this incredible work, covering all stages of medical education from the first to the sixth year, in collaboration with Islamic University and Al-Azhar University.

Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, Director General of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, honored the visiting medical delegation from the PalMed UK in recognition of their exceptional humanitarian and medical contributions to the Gaza Strip.
During their mission, the specialized surgical team performed a series of critical operations in general surgery and pediatric urology. Additionally, the delegation’s neonatal specialists provided vital care for critical cases and shared their expertise through scientific lectures on the latest global protocols for neonatal intensive care.
Dr. Abu Salmiya praised the delegation as a "shining example of medical and humanitarian partnership," highlighting their role in alleviating the suffering of patients despite the severe shortages and ongoing challenges facing the health sector.

PALMED UK is organizing urgent medical missions to Gaza and seeking dedicated Consultant-level doctors to provide vital healthcare services on the ground.
We particularly need specialists in All Surgical Specialties, Anaesthetics, and Histopathology.
Mission durations are flexible (2, 3, or 4 weeks) with opportunities available throughout 2026 (June - December). Your expertise can make a profound difference!
