Last week, Year 1 visited the RHS Bridgewater and had such a lovely time in the sun!☀️🌻 We completed a fun scavenger hunt, made our own seed packets, and enjoyed stories all about plants.💐 To finish the day, we chose plants to take home using the generously donated vouchers. Our learning didn't just stop on our trip, when we came back to school, we planted what we bought and learned about the best conditions needed to help plants grow! 🌼🌹🌳 Well done year 1 and thank you to Bolton Council, Sylvia Crossley and RHS Bridgewater for helping make our community bloom🌱🪻

What a year it's been. From busy classrooms and brilliant learning to sports days, trips, performances and plenty of laughter along the way, we've made so many wonderful memories together.
A huge thank you to all of our fantastic children for making us smile every single day. You've worked so hard and should all be incredibly proud of yourselves.
To our parents, carers and staff – thank you for all of your support, kindness and teamwork throughout the year. We couldn't do it without you.
Now it's time to swap school shoes for sandals, alarms for lazy mornings, and homework for adventures! ☀️🍦
Have the most amazing summer, stay safe, make lots of happy memories, and we'll see all of your smiling faces again in September.
Happy Summer Holidays for all of us a Kearsley West! ❤️☀️✨

Year 5 had a very exciting trip to the Stockport Air Raid Shelter on Wednesday. They explored the tunnels and saw the different facilities that were built under the ground in order to provide the best environment for people escaping the blitz. They then moved onto to Stockport museum and got to experience gas mask drills, heard a real life air raid siren, sat in a real Morrison shelter, dressed up in appropriate war time clothing and tried their hand at 1940’s house work. Everyone found it very interesting and enjoyed experiencing the life of an Evacuee for the day.

On Friday 26th , Year 4 visited the Police Museum in Manchester. They acted out a courtroom and had to decide which Victorian punishment best suited the crime of stealing. The children identified objects from 'Then and now' and reflected on how objects have changed over the years. Children visited the cells and had their fingerprints taken. This was a fantastic opportunity to consolidate our learning of our topic Crime and Punishment.
