Today some children from years 5 and 6 took part in a Cluster sport afternoon at Cherry Tree School. The children had a go at Archery and took part in different challenges concentrating on developing their accuracy by shooting into targets and hoops, and others that required shooting the arrow as far as you could. This was a great opportunity to learn a new skill and have fun without the pressures of a competition, and the children thoroughly enjoyed it.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Tunes on the Field event on Monday evening.
Our children sang beautifully during both the afternoon rehearsal and the evening performance and we are incredibly proud of them all. 🎶⭐
Thank you to all the families, friends and staff who came along to support the event. Thanks to your generosity, we raised valuable funds for the school, which will help support future opportunities for our pupils.
Thank you for making it such a wonderful evening!

This morning four very lucky year 5 scientists got to take part in a challenge at Bolton School. They had to help Scooby Doo and the gang work out who had taken the snacks and left an I.O.U. They looked at fibres found at the scene through microscopes, looked at fingerprints, performed tests on soil, drinks and even blood found at the scene. They also analysed the ink on the I.O.U. letter. Very quickly a suspect was identified. The children then presented their findings, and came runner up overall out of all the schools who took part.

So our horse riders went to the farm and got their ponies ready to ride for the final time during the last week of last half term. They had a last ride around the arena and a final trot, before lots of pats and cuddles before they had to leave. In the words of one of them “I’m not ready for it to be over miss” so I think they definitely enjoyed it. On Friday, we’ll be back with a new group.

Today we attended the KeyPE Annual Sports Awards ceremony. We were excited to have a number of nominees in both the boys and girls sports awards. We were even more excited when our very own Miss Clarke won the teacher of the year award for her dedication to school sport. Miss Clarke leads PE in school and has been pro-active in developing our offer, ensuring that we are fully inclusive and that we take part in all of the cluster competition. Well done Miss Clarke, your award is very deserved.
