Good morning to our new year 11s
As you prepare to start Year 11, you’re about to begin one of the most important years of your school life. It might seem overwhelming at times, but one thing will make the biggest difference to your success: revision.
You’ve having six weeks away from school, while it’s important to relax, recharge, and enjoy your summer, six weeks is also a very long time to go without learning. It’s easy to forget methods, formulas, and topics you’ve worked so hard to understand. That’s why it’s so important to get back into good habits straight away. The sooner you start revising, the sooner you’ll rebuild your confidence and get your brain back into “learning mode.”
GCSE Maths isn’t a subject you can leave until the last minute. Every topic builds on the one before it, so regular revision helps you strengthen your knowledge and become more confident with each new challenge. Even just 20 or 30 minutes of focused revision each day can make a huge difference by the time your exams.
So, as you begin this new school year, make yourself a promise: don’t let those six weeks of summer turn into months of lost progress. Start early, revise regularly, ask for help when you need it, and believe in your ability to improve. You don’t have to be perfect—you just have to be consistent.
Use this time wisely .
