KINDNESS WITH CHILDREN

This just passed by on my timeline and I stand by it so much. I fully believe that all behaviour is communication and that children are first and foremost trying to get their needs met. That's why I believe kindness should always come first when you are an adult dealing with a child. Then, when a good connection has been made between you, you can talk about reasons and behaviour until the cows come home - but always connection first.

It has worked for me.

Hi lovely people! Does your child ever show a need to control you or their environment?

I often find that children show a need to control because they feel OUT OF CONTROL themselves. Maybe they can't make themselves understood with words or they can't make the things happen that they need, in order to feel better.

How does your child show their need to control and in what ways do you think you could help them have MORE control?

Hi guys, if anyone you know needs to find a story to relate to, that can give them hope for their child's development and future, please share this book with them. It's not easy when you worry about your child and sometimes it can really help to realise you are not alone.

There is a lot of hope when you start to understand and get behind how your child ticks and what your child needs.

Hello my lovely friends! Today is the official day I launch my consultancy, Releasing My Child's Potential.

I have become an Autism Coach and I work with parents of children on the autistic spectrum who want to see their child relaxed, happier and open for learning but struggle with their meltdowns, demand-avoidance and need for control.

I have always found that jumping into my child's interests with him and immersing ourselves in topics that motivate him, creates reduced stress, higher connection and ultimately willing engagement for learning - you can't really go wrong! x

It is the best feeling when, as a parent, your child no longer needs to meltdown but feels easy to communicate their needs and feelings with you - to the level that you can have conversations full of reason and understanding. When this replaced meltdowns for me, it literally changed my whole world.
