Friends of Lanivet School

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible Friends of Lanivet Primary School PTA!

What an absolutely fantastic Picnic on the Green you organised for our school and community. From months of planning to the final pack away, every single detail had been carefully thought about, and it truly showed.

We know just how much time, effort, organisation and dedication goes into making an event like this happen. There are so many hours spent behind the scenes that people never see, and we are beyond grateful for every one of them.

Thank you for creating such a wonderful day filled with smiles, laughter and community spirit, while also raising vital funds that will make a real difference to our school. Your support helps us continue improving our library, playground and classroom areas for all of our children.

To our amazing PTA, thank you for everything you do. We are incredibly lucky to have such a passionate, hardworking and caring team supporting Lanivet Primary School. ❤️

Finally, we’d like to wish all of our families, friends and supporters a safe, happy and relaxing summer holiday. Thank you for another wonderful year, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in September!

TOMORROW MORNING 🐼

We are excited to announce our upcoming Uniform Swap Morning! This is a fantastic opportunity to recycle pre-loved school uniforms and pick up items for the new academic year.

Here's how it will work: Over the coming few days, we kindly ask all parents to bring in any used school uniform items that are still in good condition. Please ensure all items are washed beforehand and leave them at the school reception.

We ask that all PARENTS & GUARDIANS BRING ANY PRELOVED UNIFORM AT DROP OFF ON TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK.

The main Uniform Swap event will take place on:

Date: Thursday 23rd July

Time: 8:40 AM - 9:00 AM (potentially later)

Location: Lanivet School Hall

Parents from all year groups can collect pre-loved uniforms ahead of September. All parents are warmly invited to the School Hall after morning drop-off to participate in the swap. You can swap uniforms, donate second-hand items, and pick up second-hand uniforms.

🍰 The Friends of Lanivet School are bringing back the Great Lanivet Bake-Off! 🍰

After last year's competition went down an absolute cakey storm (we know... that joke takes the biscuit! 😄), the PTA are bringing back the Great Lanivet Bake-Off for this year's Picnic on the Green!

We were blown away by the incredible entries last year. The creativity, effort and talent on display were amazing—and we're pretty sure everyone enjoyed helping to eat the entries afterwards too! 🤤

So, who's ready to put on their apron and enter this year? Whether you're a star baker or simply love baking for fun, we'd love to see what you create.

🏆 Who will be crowned our 2026 Great Lanivet Bake-Off Champion?

The countdown is officially ON! There are just over two weeks until our massive Picnic on the Green on Friday 24th July, which means the legendary Lanivet Summer Bake Off is back!

Are you a master of the sponge? A traybake titan? Or maybe you just love getting messy in the kitchen with the kids? We want YOU to enter! Any age and any stage of baker is welcome to show off their skills.

The fabulous Mr Gray will be our head judge, putting his tastebuds to the test at 2:00 PM sharp. Will you be the one to lift the 2026 trophy? 🏆

Here is what you need to know to get involved:

💷 Entry: Only £5 per bake (every penny goes straight back into supporting our amazing school!).

🍰 The Twist: Slices of your beautiful creations will be sold off to the crowd afterwards to raise vital funds for the Lanivet PTA!

⚠️ Crucial Rule: To keep all our kids safe, all bakes must be strictly 100% NUT-FREE! 🚫🥜

Ready for Day 3! ☀️

We’ve woken up to sunny, dry weather and a gentle breeze – perfect for another day of adventures!

After a great night’s sleep, everyone is definitely feeling the effects of yesterday’s busy activities, but spirits are high and the children are ready for another exciting day. Having fuelled up on a delicious cooked breakfast, we’re all set for today’s activities.

Bring on Day 3! 😊

Day 2 of Camp! 🌟

Today began with a fascinating tour of the SS Great Britain, bringing learning to life from the children’s Year 2 studies and linking perfectly with their recent Year 6 learning about transport and warfare. It was wonderful to see history come alive before their eyes!

After refuelling with lunch, we headed to the aquarium, where we met turtles, catfish and piranhas, and of course, the star of the show – Mabel the octopus! 🐢🐟🐙

Following another tasty dinner, the children enjoyed some games and fresh air at the park before heading back.

After a fabulous day packed with learning, fun and adventure, we’re all looking forward to a good night’s sleep tonight! 😊

WELCOME BACK 🐣✨

We are looking forward to welcoming back all our children after the Easter break! We hope all of our families enjoyed some special time together and made lots of memories.

We’re so excited for a fantastic summer term ahead, packed with school camps, trips, PTA events and, of course, lots of brilliant learning. The PTA are kicking things off with the famous Penny Wars, don’t forget to check out the Friends of Lanivet School page for more details!

For now here are a few photos from our Easter Bonnet Competition to make you smile 😊 We were incredibly proud of all the children and their creative entries, it was such a joyful celebration to end the term. A huge thank you to the PTA for organising such an eggcellent competition, and a huge thank you to all our families for getting involved, it was a fantastic success!

We can’t wait to see you tomorrow, Monday 20th April, for the start of an exciting summer term! 🌞🎉
