We have big news!

Behind the scenes we have been working hard to apply for the Communities Choice Funding, and we are officially finalists!

Our main goal from funding is to purchase lighting equipment that we can use during our shows as hiring in the equipment is a very large chunk of our show budget! Our own lighting would mean that we would be able to freeze our ticket prices instead of having to increase to reflect increases in cost.
As well as this, in the aim of promoting inclusion, well being and diversity in our community, we would like to purchase larger Acro equipment to help us provide opportunity for more teens and young people to access an active outlet.
If we are successful we will also fund a child's class costs for a year and provide all of our children with a new uniform top from our local supplier!

If you are a Blaenavon resident, please come and see us at Big Pit's Big Bash on Saturday 4th July between 12 and 3.30pm and drop us a vote. We have so many amazing children and families that this money would benefit!

Backstage and Chaperones!

Did you know that our backstage crew are not just there to save our sanity and help us out?

ALL stage productions involving children are legally required to have licensed chaperones on site who have gone through a three step process.

What is a chaperone?
A chaperone is responsible for safeguarding, supporting and promoting the wellbeing of the child. This can include ensuring they are provided with food and refreshments, rest and recreation and that there are separate changing rooms for boys and girls over the age of five.

Chaperones must remain with the child at all times and have sight of the child when they are on stage, set or performing. However, their main duties are to ensure that the child/children are properly supervised when not performing and have adequate meals, rest and recreation.

A chaperone can supervise up to 12 children.

So much goes in to the behind the scenes of our shows and we would absolutely not be able to do what we do for your children without our chaperones giving up their time to get their licenses!

Twinkling Toes brilliant class helpers.

As well as dancing with us, Harriet, Lilli-Mae ,and Emily also work hard helping out at classes.

All three of them come in and support after school and college and as well as being a great help in teaching routines, they have also built brilliant relationships with the children and show endless amounts of care and patience towards them- especially our littlest groups.
