What are the benefits of private tutoring?
The benefits can be as varied as the individual children it helps.
But there are some key private tutoring benefits that are useful to know about. Here are the main ones.
1. Get your child the individual attention they deserve
At school, your child will be battling with 30+ other students for their teacher’s time and attention.
If they’re struggling to understand a topic, it can be hard for them to get the individual support they need. And that can lead to them falling behind.
On the other hand, private tutoring means your child will get one-on-one time with a professional.
As a qualified teacher I have an enhanced DBS check and experience in tutoring and teaching. I am an expert at taking a difficult subject and turning it into concepts that are easy to understand for your child.
It could be understanding the meanings behind poetry, or tough scientific theories. Whatever your child is struggling with, I will have you covered.
2. Boost your child’s confidence
Whether your child is falling behind their peers or putting themselves under too much pressure, this can quickly lead to them losing their confidence.
Working one to one, I will learn how to get the best out of students and will be able to work with your child to get their confidence back.
Having a tutor is like having a personal cheerleader. They’ll help your child celebrate the small wins as well as the big ones, boosting their self-esteem and motivation every time.
3. Tailor sessions to your child’s learning style
Every child is different. What works for one child may not work for another.
The good news is that I will create a personalised learning plan geared towards your child’s learning style, strengths and weaknesses.
In this way, your child will be able to learn in a way that works for them. This can be hugely beneficial in helping your child to wrap their head around difficult concepts and remembering information.
Tutoring can also be incredibly helpful for students with additional learning needs (ALN) By working with yourselves, I can provide a custom learning plan for your child that suits their unique requirements, boosts their confidence and helps them to reach their full potential.
4. Fit learning in around family life
One often overlooked benefit of tutoring is that it’s designed to fit around family life.
I understand that you have a hundred other commitments taking up time and energy. I can take away from the mental load by helping you fit your child’s learning around your busy schedule.
5. Work towards your child’s goals
I understand that no two children are the same.
Arguably the biggest benefit of tutoring is that everything is geared towards your child. You set the goals and I am there to help achieve them.
Whether it’s improving in maths, learning a whole new skill or learning a complicated concept, I am there to help you and your child to reach those goals and more.
6. Go beyond the curriculum
The benefits of having a tutor go far beyond academic success. A tutor can also help your child to develop valuable skills that will serve them long into the future.
This includes things like time management, independent learning, dealing with pressure and critical thinking. These are all important skills that will not only help your child to ace their work, but also stand them in good stead later on in life.
