This week we discovered that shadows are made when something blocks the sunlight and that different lights can make shadows stronger or softer. We had so much fun playing shadow tig, creating shadow shapes with our bodies and even telling stories using our own shadow puppets. What a bright and brilliant afternoon of learning for 1LH! 🌞🖐️🕶️

Our children have welcomed some new pets into Nursery - some caterpillars. We have loved learning about the lifecycle of a caterpillar with our Book of the Week, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and through the creation of a giant 'very hungry' caterpillar, which is now proudly displayed in our Nursery. We can't wait to watch our caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies!

Today our whole school came together to take part in our sponsored run/walk as part of the 100 Miles for 100K fundraising drive for Trinity Hospice and Brian House. The Push Force team were able to attend to witness all our children working hard to raise these important funds.

We have been truly overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of our families, as well as your extended friends and relatives. Thanks to your support, our current total stands at an outstanding £3,140. (If you do have sponsorship money you are still collecting please send this in next week and we'll announce the grand total.)

The children had a fantastic afternoon and we had some brilliant costumes and masks. Thank you to DJ Kellett who got the children warmed up and motivated and to Blackpool FC Community Trust who allowed Bloomfield Bear to interrupt his holidays to join in the fun. We've got lots more photos to share with you next week.

We were also joined by Coastal Radio DAB and you can hear all about the event on Scott's show on Monday.

A huge thank you for all your support in making this such a special and successful event. We couldn’t have done it without you! 💛💙

This week, the children in 3AS had a fantastic time practising how to strike a stationary ball. They worked brilliantly with their partners, taking turns to keep the ball up in the air and bouncing it down with growing confidence. It was wonderful to see their teamwork, determination and big smiles as they mastered new skills and encouraged one another throughout the session.

Halo sports day 2026!🏅💙

Halo Sports Day was a great success. Our pupils worked hard and showed the PE skills they’ve been practising. They walked the plank, crawled under our homemade “tree,” threw javelins, jumped the rope, completed the egg‑and‑spoon challenge, and aimed beanbags into the bucket.

Every child took part with enthusiasm and did their best. We ended the day by handing out certificates and medals — well deserved. Well done, Halo!
