We are incredibly proud of a group of our KS1 children who represented Lammack Primary School at the KS1 Multi-Skills Festival at St Bede’s High School.

The children spent two action-packed hours developing and demonstrating a range of skills, including running, balancing, coordination, jumping and throwing. They were absolutely fantastic throughout!

Most importantly, they showed brilliant teamwork, determination and encouragement, supporting one another and staying active for the whole two hours – all with huge smiles on their faces! Their fantastic efforts were rewarded with a very well-deserved gold medal.

A special thank you to our two Year 6 girls, who did a wonderful job as sports coaches for the morning, helping and encouraging our younger children.

Finally, a huge thank you to Mrs Kara and Mrs Lawson for supporting the children throughout the event.

Are you a busy parent who needs some help with the morning drop off? Our ‘Walking Buddies’ are on duty each morning to help. They are positioned near the Whinney Lane entrance and car park to take younger children down to class. This means you get an easier, quicker drop off and your child can build a lovely relationship with one of our older children. Meanwhile, this will also help the traffic on Whinney Lane too! Win! Win! 🚗🚗

Yesterday, our Year 4 children looked fabulous dressed up as Romans for the launch of their topic.
Thanks to our parents for their wonderful support!
The children enjoyed making colourful mosaics, practising their Roman Numerals in a Learning Outside the Classroom session, and finding out about Boudicca and her revolt against the Romans.

Class 4C were absolutely terrific at Blackburn Leisure Centre today!

Did you know… As part of our Year 4 swimming programme, children spend one hour in the pool each week, developing their swimming skills, confidence and understanding of water safety.

To make sure every child is challenged at the right level, pupils are taught in three differentiated groups, ranging from beginners who are building their confidence in the water through to our more advanced swimmers developing their technique, stamina and range of strokes.

What are we working towards?

By the end of Year 4, our aim is for every child to:

🏅 Swim 25 metres unaided;

🏅 Swim at least 10 metres using two different strokes;

🏅 Successfully complete their water safety test.
Swimming is such an important life skill, so we would really encourage families to take their children swimming outside of school whenever possible. Even a fun family trip to the pool gives children valuable extra time in the water and helps build their confidence.
A huge well done to Class 4C today — fantastic listening, brilliant effort and some super swimming! Class 4P will be swimming next half term.

We are all looking forward to welcoming all year 1-6 children back to school tomorrow from 8.37am. PE days start from Monday but teachers will explain which days. Reception children have to wait until Friday but have 1-1 meetings on Wednesday/Thursday. And so the year begins again… who is excited?

Our Year 6 completed their performances of Gogglebox this afternoon to huge applause. Everyone worked together as a team to create a fantastic show with laughter and some emotional tears too.
