🌟 Celebrating our Year 5/6 Football Team! ⚽

On Monday night, our Year 5/6 football team kicked off our sporting calendar in style by reaching the Quarter Finals of the Hyndnurn Kids Cup!

The team played five fantastic games, securing three wins along the way before eventually being knocked out by the tournament winners. From start to finish, the children were brilliant and represented school superbly. 👏

We are incredibly proud of their teamwork, determination and positive attitude throughout the evening. A huge thank you, as always, to all the parents and family members who helped with transport and came along to cheer the children on — your support means so much. 💙

🏛️ Buzzard Class have been travelling back in time to Ancient Greece! 🏛️

The children were challenged to use a range of sources to investigate our hypothesis: Who were the Ancient Greeks?

They did amazingly, showing fantastic curiosity, teamwork and independent thinking as they gathered information and used their Historian hats to build thoughtful justifications. We were so impressed by the quality of their ideas and the way they explained their thinking.

Well done, Buzzards — definitely some future historians brewing! 🌟

Today in Maths, our EYFS children have been making a set using buttons. They did such an amazing job independently sorting the buttons into different groups.

Multi-Faith Week 🌍

Last week, we proudly celebrated Multi-Faith Week, giving our pupils the opportunity to explore and learn about a range of world religions and traditions.

Each class focused on a different faith, learning about its beliefs, traditions, celebrations and values:

Owls & Merlins – Buddhism
Hawks – Hinduism
Red Kites – Judaism
Buzzards – Islam
Eagles – Sikhism

It was a wonderful week of curiosity, discussion and learning. Here are some photos of our learning.

In Red Kites, we are focusing on fables, and the children have already been busy exploring new fables. They had lots of fun role-playing the story, bringing the characters to life and using their voices and actions to help retell it. 🎭
