Good morning everybody hope you all are keeping well.

A photo of me when I was only 2 years old. I pointed to my uncle Larry for taking a photo of us and thanks to my aunt Kathleen for paying attention to my needs.

You can see pointing is vital for our deaf culture. We called it 'non verbal convention'.

Pointing does apply to both deaf and hearing children when they are not yet use spoken language.

Tips for you ☝️

Point to what you’re talking about, and don’t be shy about using gestures to support your communication.

For example, if you’re telling a group of children dinner is ready, you can do a knife and fork action and point to the dinner table. Keep your index finger straight.

On another hand, you must learn handshapes first before vocabulary that is how my deaf-led business is successful and run smoothly.

Thanks for your time in reading this 🤗

We are very pleased to announce our success in obtaining funding from The Big Lottery Community Fund!

During these difficult times it is even more important to train British Sign Language Communication Support Workers (CSWs) to communicate with and for members of the Deaf Community in everyday life matters.

The grant will provide tuition in British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 and Level 2 commencing September 2021.

Massive thank you to Big Lottery in supporting Yours In BSL to breaking down isolation and communication barriers for Deaf people
