Bishops Nympton Little Owls Pre-School We are a rural pre-school with a fantastic new building. We welcome children from the age of 2 - 5 and have spaces at each session

Little Owls is run by a voluntary committee of parents and we have 5 lovely staff members in the team here. We welcome children from the age of 2 - 5 and currently have spaces at each session. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9-3.30pm. Please call us or visit the website for more information.

Let's Talk More (LTME) has been launched by Devon Integrated Children's Services across Devon. It is a structured pathway comprising of a screening tool and support package for children aged 2 years to 2 years 11 months. It aims to provide an intregated approach to early identifications and individualised support to both child and parent from Public Health Nurses (PHN), Children's Centres, Early Years settings and Speech and Lanaguage Therapy Services. We are displaying the first strategy for January and February in the foyer which shows the core strategies behind LTME. Any question please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff.

The nativity will take place on Tuesday 13th December at 9.30am in the church. Could you please drop off your child with us at 9.00am as normal then make your way to the church. Everyone welcome! We hope you are practising those songs!

Christmas Party Thursday 15th December (our last day!) We will be having party games in the morning with a special visitor. The christmas dinner will take place at lunchtime as normal. In the afternoon we will be having party food. Everyone welcome to join us in the morning.

Our first day back is Wednesday 4th January.

Hello, we hope you are enjoying your half term. When we return on Monday we will be dressing up for Halloween. All children are welcome to dress up if they wish. Our focus will be on counting, number recognition and writing with the help of some superheroes!

A little reminder about our coffee morning tomorrow 9.30-11.30 in aid of MacMillan. Everyone welcome to come along have a coffee and a slice cake and make a donation to MacMillan.

The children are exploring colour through their senses this week, creating a textured rainbow to help them understand the use of different objects.

We are holding a coffee morning 9.30-11.30am on Wednesday 28th September in aid of MacMillan. All are welcome to join us to support this worthwhile charity. Please spread the word!

On Tuesday the 21st June as you know the children are taking part in a sponsored Toddle. We would like the children to dress up as animals. Any children that do not normally attend on a Tuesday are welcome to join us with an adult. Any attending adults are also encouraged to dress up.

The children are enjoying listening to and taking part in the traditional tales. We gathered sticks and grass from the school field to make the 3 little pigs homes. The children took part in making porridge for the three bears and learnt about size. The children helped Goldilocks and used their senses to explore hard, soft, hot cold and just right!

This week The Smartest Giant in Town has come to pre-school. We are learning about rhyme in words and using various props to create the story.

Dates for your diary:-

Tempest will be coming in on Wednesday 4th May approx 1.30pm to take the group photo. This was cancelled on Monday due to the weather.

We are taking part in the Toddle to celebrate Barnardo's 150th anniversary. This will take place on Tuesday 21st June (previously arranged for Tuesday 14th June). The theme will be animals and we encourage all children to dress up as their favourite animal.

Sports Day will take place on Thursday 14th July, weather permitting, reserve day Monday 18th July.

We are looking at different constructions eg. bridges, houses etc. The children have been building their own structures using various resources including boxes, lego, blocks, masking tape etc. We will continue with this topic until the end of term.

Do not forget our open morning on Thursday 24th March. This is an opportunity for you to make bonnets/hats with your child. Following the judging we will have an easter egg hunt in the school field.

The children have been learning about People Who Help Us. We have been talking about doctors, fire fighters, lollipop ladies and nurses. This week we will be learning about how vets help us and our pets.
