Tomorrow afternoon some of the Reception children will be visiting our local care home to begin building links with the residents. We have lots of lovely activities planned and we are looking forward to making some new friends.

The Department for Education has just approved the Teach Your Monster to Read app AND it's free to download until Feb 28th! There are also lots of other lovely activities to try with your children on the government's Hungry Little Minds campaign!

Please read with your child as much as you can at home. Learning to read fluently and from an early age is very important. The quicker your child learns to read, the more they will learn! The reading books we send home for your child are carefully picked and fully support our phonics programme. Please don't forget there are also books available online with fun games and a virtual world which your children can play. If you have any questions please contact someone at school and we will be happy to help.

A huge thank you to everyone who made contributions to our reverse advent calendar. The children visited the care home this afternoon and delivered the tasty treats. We sang some festive songs with the residents and everyone had a lovely time.

We have been expressing ourselves through transient art over the last few weeks. Some of the children chosen to create representations of themselves and some chose to focus on different emotions. We think that they are wonderful!
