In science, Year 5 have been learning about the solar system. In particular, they’ve been talking about the planets.

Currently, Jupiter is visible in the night sky and easy to spot as it is the very brightest object to the bottom right of the moon (see diagram). It will remain in this position for a while so if it’s cloudless at some point over the next week, you should be able to spot the largest planet in our solar system quite easily. Take a look!

Many of our families are part of or linked to the farming community. A young farmer 'Jack' is encouraging school children to wear their wellies today in support of local farmers. Our children wear their wellies every day for outdoor play and learning but today they can do it in support of the farming community. As part of ongoing work to develop Career Related Learning, we will talk about what the job of a farmer involves and some of the skills required to do the job.

Exciting news!

Coming soon…….

You may have noticed that our current play equipment has been out of action for a while. This is because it requires repairs that are mounting in costs due its age and the wear and tear it has naturally encountered over time.

We are so pleased to inform you that we have had a grant funding application successfully approved and alongside money raised from your wonderful fundraising efforts, we have been able to order some new equipment. The children have seen a range of designs and some have been involved in the decision making process, sharing their likes, dislikes and preferences. The image shows the final design and we are now just awaiting final permissions and hope to have it installed as soon as possible in the new year.
