Children are welcome to come to school wearing something red to join in the fun and show their support.

We are celebrating World Book Day this Thursday, 5th March.

Children are welcome to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

Please do not feel the need to buy new costumes—there are plenty of simple, fun and affordable DIY ideas available online.

Children are also encouraged to bring along their favourite book to share and enjoy during the day.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful celebration of reading!

Team Ruby all had a fantastic time today visiting the Sikh temple, where they had the opportunity to learn more about Sikhism and its values. They were thoroughly engaged throughout the visit and asked some thoughtful questions, showing great curiosity and respect.

They were warmly welcomed, and the children particularly enjoyed learning about the importance of the Gurdwara within the Sikh community. The food was especially delicious and very much appreciated by everyone.

This week, Team Diamond took a lovely trip into Birstall to explore all the different businesses in our local community. The children enjoyed spotting shops, services, and places they recognised.
They also made a little stop at the library, where they had a chance to rest, browse the shelves, and enjoy a book together. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our community and to nurture a love of reading.

NSPCC NUMBER DAY

On Friday 6th February, our school will be taking part in NSPCC Number Day, a fun and meaningful event to help raise money for the NSPCC and celebrate learning through numbers.

To support this day, we are asking children to:
• Come to school wearing something with a number on it (this could be a number-themed top, football shirt, badge, or even a handmade number).
• Donate £1 to the NSPCC.

Throughout the day, the children will also be taking part in the TTRS NSPCC Rocks competition, putting their times table skills to the test while raising money for a great cause. We would love your support in encouraging your child to practise on Times Tables Rock Stars at home so we can aim for the highest class score in the competition!

Thank you for your continued support in helping us make this day both fun and impactful. We’re really looking forward to celebrating Number Day together.
