Today at LingoRoots we explored Urdu through nature 🌸

The children headed outdoors to collect flowers and leaves before creating their own beautiful nature frames together. Along the way, we practised counting in Urdu up to 20 and explored the world around us through play, conversation and creativity.

Moments like these help children connect language with real experiences, memories and culture πŸ’›

This week at LingoRoots we explored colours through play, storytelling and Urdu 🎨

Our sessions are designed to help children feel confident, connected and proud of who they are

Through repetition and shared experiences, children begin to recognise words, use them naturally, and build a stronger sense of identity πŸ’¬

It’s not just language - it’s belonging, confidence and connection 🀍

Today at Midlands Arts Centre, I watched Mirpuri elders share their lived experiences.

I understood every word.

But the videos are subtitled.

And it hit me β€” if we don’t pass our languages on, the next generation will only understand their grandparents through subtitles.

Language is memory. Identity. Belonging.

This is exactly why LingoRoots exists 🌱
