Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been brought to the school’s attention that there is a derelict property in the local area, and that students wearing Erdington Academy uniform may have been seen nearby.

We would like to make you aware that there is a derelict three-storey house located at 135 Kingsbury Road. This building presents a serious safety risk. Derelict structures can be unstable and unsafe, and any young person entering the premises could be at risk of significant injury.

In addition, any individual entering this property would be trespassing, which could lead to further consequences.
We ask that you speak with your child to reinforce the importance of staying away from this location and to remind them of the dangers associated with entering unsafe buildings.

Thank you for your continued support in helping to keep all members of our community safe.

Yours sincerely,
J Halstead
Assistant Principal / Designated Safeguarding Lead

💙 PRE-LOVED UNIFORM DONATIONS NEEDED 💙

As our wonderful Year 11 students prepare to leave Erdington Academy and begin their next chapter, we’re asking for your help to support the students who will follow in their footsteps.

Do you have any Erdington Academy uniform that no longer fits your child but is still in good, clean condition?

We would be incredibly grateful for donations of:
👔 Blazers
👔 Ties
👕 Shirts
🧥 Jumpers
👖 Trousers
👗 Skirts
⚽ PE Kits

and any other uniform items.

With the rising cost of living, school uniform can place a significant financial strain on many families. By donating pre-loved uniform, you’re helping to remove barriers, support local families, reduce waste and ensure every student can come to school feeling confident and ready to learn.

♻️ Good for families
♻️ Good for the environment
♻️ Good for our community

All donations can be dropped off at the school reception.

Every item donated, no matter how small, can make a real difference to another student.

Thank you for helping us support our Erdington Academy community. 💙

On Friday after school, an incident took place on Bromford Road involving adults in two vehicles.

I want to reassure our community that students, parents and staff acted quickly and appropriately by informing the police and prioritising the safety of those involved.

We are working closely with the police following this incident and will continue to do so to help ensure that Erdington and North Birmingham remain safe, welcoming and vibrant places for our young people to live and learn.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Erdington Academy’s Boys Athletics Team beat nine other schools from across the region, after competing in a full programme of track and field events at the prestigious Alexander Stadium.
The Year 9 Athletics Championships, on Wednesday May 13, was organised by coaches from Birchfield Harriers Athletics Club, who also work with students during Friday after school athletics sessions.
Teams of seven pupils took part in sprints, middle‑distance races, jumps and throws. The Boys Team’s consistency across all events placed them firmly at the top of the leaderboard, marking one of the academy’s strongest athletics results in recent years.
The Girls Team also delivered an excellent performance, finishing fourth overall against strong competition.
Miss Millward, Head of PE at the academy, said both teams showed great determination and teamwork throughout the day.
“Their resilience and commitment were clear in every event, and their results reflect the strength and depth of talent across the year group.”
She added: “The boys were outstanding from start to finish. Their determination, discipline and teamwork were evident in every event, and becoming overall champions is a brilliant reflection of the effort they’ve put in this year. The Girls Team also performed brilliantly. Their resilience, encouragement of one another and determination throughout the day were excellent to see.”
This success also highlights the impact of the academy’s ongoing partnership with Birchfield Harriers Athletics Club and Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust’s mission to enrich lives and transform futures. Special thanks go to Coach Sharon Morris for her continued guidance, encouragement and expertise, helping students grow in confidence and skill.
Both teams embodied the academy’s values of ambition, teamwork and resilience. Their performances and attitude made the whole school proud.
