✨ Happy Chinese New Year! ✨

Today we celebrated this special festival, which marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year — a time for fresh starts, good fortune, and coming together with family and friends. It’s a beautiful tradition centred around togetherness, gratitude, and welcoming positive energy for the year ahead.

A huge thank you to our amazing nursery chef Becky, who went above and beyond to prepare a delicious Chinese‑style buffet social lunch for our parents and families. Her hard work, creativity, and care truly shone through in every dish, and we’re so grateful for the love she puts into everything she makes.

Events like today remind us how valuable it is for parents to connect with one another. Socialising helps build a strong, supportive community around our children — sharing experiences, building friendships, and creating a sense of belonging that benefits everyone.

Thank you to all who joined us. What a lovely way to start the New Year together ✨🧧

What a lovely start to the morning at Little Adventures Stirchley today🥞✨

Our Pancake Takeaway Platter was a huge hit — fluffy pancakes, fresh fruits, and a choice of delicious sauces for our families to grab on their way to work.

A massive shout‑out to our amazing nursery chef Becky, who came in bright and early to prepare such a beautiful spread for our parents. Your hard work and creativity make these moments feel extra special.

We hope everyone enjoyed their pancakes and set off for the day with full tummies and happy hearts.

Happy Shrove Day! 💛

🌟 Celebrating Lewis – Highly Commended Apprentice of the Year! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to share that Lewis has been awarded Highly Commended Apprentice of the Year! This recognition couldn’t be more deserved, and we’re absolutely thrilled to see his hard work and dedication celebrated.

Lewis has made an outstanding impact since joining us. As one testimonial beautifully put it, “Lewis has taken to the role naturally, showing a genuinely caring nature that helps children feel safe, secure, and comfortable in his presence.”

Another colleague shared how “his commitment to support our SEND children is evident, he continuously goes the extra mile to ensure their daily needs are met.”

His compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment shine through every single day. We couldn’t be prouder of everything he has achieved so far, and we can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next.

👏 Well done, Lewis — you truly deserve this recognition. Keep shining! 🌟

🦷 TOOTH DECAY IN UNDER‑5s – IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BIRMINGHAM FAMILIES 🦷

Did you know that Birmingham has some of the highest rates of tooth decay in children under the age of 5? Many little ones are experiencing dental problems long before they even start school — but the good news is that most tooth decay is completely preventable with the right support.

As a nursery, we want to help our families feel confident about keeping their children’s teeth healthy from the very start. Here are some simple steps you can take at home:

💡 Top Tips to Help Prevent Tooth Decay

- Brush your child’s teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste (morning and before bed).

- Use only a pea‑sized amount of toothpaste for children aged 3–5, and a smear for under‑3s.

- Avoid sugary snacks and drinks, especially between meals.
Offer water or milk as the main drinks throughout the day.

- Encourage regular brushing as part of your child’s routine — little habits make a big difference.

🦷 When Should My Child See a Dentist?

- Children should be registered with a dentist as soon as their first tooth appears — this can be as early as 6 months old.

- NHS dental care for children is completely free.

- Your child should have a check‑up every 6 months, even if everything seems fine. Early visits help build confidence and catch any issues quickly.

🌍✨ Learning Through Play: Tiny Hands, Big Planet Energy ✨🌍
Children have this magical ability to turn absolutely anything into an adventure. Give them a cardboard box and suddenly it’s a spaceship, a castle, or a recycling depot saving the world one bottle at a time. And honestly, that’s where the real learning happens — in the messy, imaginative, joy‑filled moments where play becomes purpose.

🎨 Sorting to Save the Planet
There’s something wonderfully empowering about watching children sort materials — plastics in one tub, paper in another, metal in a third. The children are not just sorting; they’re practicing problem‑solving, building early maths skills, and discovering that their actions matter.

🦊 Rescuing Animals, One Pretend Mission at a Time!
Set up a “Save the Animals” station and suddenly you’ve got a room full of tiny eco‑heroes. The children have rescued the animals from the plastic and pollution within the sea. Through play, they have started to understand empathy, responsibility, and the idea that the world is shared — and worth protecting.

💚 Play Today, Protect Tomorrow
When children learn through play, they’re not just absorbing information — they’re building values. They're discovering that recycling isn’t a chore, it’s a superpower. That caring for animals isn’t just kind, it’s essential. That the Earth isn’t just a place we live, it’s a place we love.

And the best part? They are have had fun the whole time.

Good afternoon everyone,

We wanted to share that there's a great free app called Baby & Child by the British Red Cross that all parents can download.

It offers a basic First Aid training course, which is super helpful for understanding first aid in case of an emergency. I encourage everyone to check it out!

Hello everyone!

We hope everyone has been keeping warm and safe during Storm Goretti.

At Little Adventures Stirchley, we embraced the snowy weather while it lasted. It’s such a rare treat for children to experience the snow, making it a perfect opportunity to bundle up and enjoy the outdoors.

We did not let the snow stop us from enjoying our Weekly Extra Curriculm of a Football Session per week, the children carefully and joyfully enjoyed the snowy football session!

The children had a fantastic time exploring with different tools and making patterns in the snow. Some noticed how cold the snow is, prompting a group discussion on how to stay safe while walking in snowy conditions and ensuring we look after our well-being.

We also talked about how ice melts in our hands and which parts of the world experience snow, like the Arctic. Some children even shared their knowledge about animals that live in snowy regions, including penguins and polar bears. It was a wonderful learning experience for everyone but also such a fun one! As many created snowmen and snow angels :)

We've received fantastic feedback on our tasty home-made mince pies recently, so we wanted to share the recipe for you to try at home!

It's attached below, and we would really love to see pictures of your creations once they're ready!

Today was filled with festive cheer as we hosted various parent events and workshops! We had a very special guest drop by – can you guess who it was?

He sang Jingle Bells while shaking his bells and spreading joy with his festive “Ho, Ho, Ho!”. That's right, it was Santa!

Our delightful sensory room was transformed into an amazing Santa's Grotto where children and families could take professional photos with Santa and even received a special gift. Some of our little ones proudly shared, “My room is tidy!” and “I have been good!”.

We also held a parent workshop where families were warmly invited to explore winter and Christmas-themed activities with their children. This was a wonderful opportunity for parents to see the fun and learning that takes place here at Little Adventures Nursery. Engaging parents in their child’s learning is so important to us, and these events also provide a great chance for parents to socialise and connect.

At the end of each event, we always have some snacks and drinks available for parents to enjoy before heading home. Today, our parents savoured hot chocolate, non-alcoholic mulled wine, homemade mince pies, and a lovely cheese board with fruit.

What a lovely way to wrap up a delightful year!
