Lynne's Business and Everyday English This page is for study and learning advice for second language learners of English. I have been teaching English as a second language since 2017.

My learners have been from many countries around the world with a diversity of backgrounds and cultures. These learners have moved on to their next level of English, having developed their speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills. Most importantly I have enabled them to reach their goals, such as speaking fluently in an international presentation or being an effective participant in an international business meeting. Equally other learners have mastered skills to socialise well and to be able to accomplish everyday tasks, such as doctor's appointments. I see learning as a partnership between the learner and teacher. In this situation, a learner starts with receiving a lot of support, and over time they develop their confidence until they discover their learning potential and go on to self-direct their learning. As a testament to this method of learning, I have received many compliments from learners at the end of a course with me, and also high ratings on a tutor satisfaction scale.
