Upcoming Maths day at CREC - led by maths specialist teacher, Roy Broadfield, this session will look at and explore the concepts covered in teaching Early Number, what ELGs for number and counting are, and what they mean in practice.

"The training sessions covering maths were presented in a way that excites and inspires even the most unenthusiastic mathematicians. As adults, we can have very strong views about our abilities and this can easily be passed on to the children we work with. The sessions supported each person to feel comfortable with maths, demystified some long held misconceptions and brought joy to maths.
Since qualifying as a teacher and working in my own classroom, I feel excited about teaching maths and keen that my children have a love for it, seeing it as a way to discover and express themselves. My deepest thanks to Roy - I have had really positive comments from colleagues on my maths group activities and how keen the children are to discuss and demonstrate knowledge and challenge themselves.
