Lucton School swimmers had a fantastic weekend at the West Midland Regional Swimming Championships, and it was great to see all their hard work come through in the pool 💙

The weekend started strong. Isla took on the 200m Individual Medley, finishing in 2:58.46. Just outside her PB, but a really solid swim to open her championships, placing 22nd overall and 18th in her age group.

Amy followed in the 100m Breaststroke with a time of 1:26.03, placing 22nd overall and 12th in her age group. A confident and competitive swim 👏

Sunday really brought out some standout moments.

In Session 4, Isla delivered a brilliant 50m Backstroke, going 35.47 in the heats to make the final. She then came back even stronger with a 35.20, finishing 4th overall and 3rd in her age group. So close and such a composed performance under pressure 🔥

Layla also raced the 50m Backstroke, finishing 14th with 35.00, right on her PB. A really strong swim and a great start to her weekend.

In Session 5, Isla was straight back in for the 100m Freestyle and produced a huge PB of 1:08.94 to qualify for the final. She then placed 9th overall in 1:10.50, backing it up shortly after her Backstroke final, which makes it even more impressive 👊

Layla delivered one of the swims of the weekend in the 200m Butterfly, producing a big PB of 2:48.96 in the heats to finish 4th and make the final. She went on to place 8th overall, a brilliant result in such a tough event 💥

Overall, it was a really strong weekend for Lucton School. Finals, PBs, and top 10 finishes, but more importantly, growing confidence and experience at this level.

Really proud of all the swimmers. A great weekend all round 💙👏

✨ Celebrating Chloe ✨

This weekend, Chloe completed the London Marathon while raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support 💚🏃‍♀️

Chloe has been part of the Typhoon family for years, from being a swimmer at our Lucton Typhoon Swimming Club to teaching and inspiring children across multiple Typhoon locations. She has made such a positive impact on so many young swimmers and families along the way.

So next week, we’re handing it over to you.

Parents will be invited into the pool to demonstrate the perfect front crawl, flawless breathing technique, and of course, a calm and graceful diving.

Points may be lost for shouting “this pool is freezing”, adjusting goggles for 7 minutes, swallowing half the pool, and unexpected belly flops but really loud crisp sound may gain points.

To all the amazing mums in our Typhoon family THANK YOU!

Thank you for the early mornings, the towel carrying, the poolside cheering and the constant encouragement that helps your swimmers grow in confidence every single week. So much of a child’s progress in the water comes from the support they receive outside the pool, and mums play a huge part in helping them learn and develop.
We’re incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful community of families around Typhoon, and today we just wanted to say how much we appreciate everything you do.

That’s a wrap on our first crash course of the year and what a week it’s been 🙌🌊

The progress we’ve seen has been incredible. Confidence up. Skills sharpened. Smiles everywhere. The effort from every single swimmer has been outstanding and we couldn’t be prouder 👏

Parents, thank you for the support and encouragement. It makes such a difference and we love seeing the children grow in and out of the water.

If your child loved the crash course and isn’t already on our weekly lessons, now is the perfect time to join. Consistency is where the real magic happens and spaces are filling quickly.

And a reminder for our current Typhoon families 💙 If you’re on group lessons (including 4+ lessons or Typhoon Tots) and paying by Direct Debit, you can refer a friend and receive one free month of swimming for each child they enrol once they complete lessons.

There’s no limit to how many friends you can refer, and free months are applied consecutively. Just ask us for your unique referral code and make sure your friend enters it on their booking form at sign-up.
