This week our Year 10 Geography students carried out physical geography fieldwork to investigate how a river changes as it flows downstream.
Using a range of fieldwork equipment, including ranging poles, tape measures, metre sticks, callipers and clinometers, students collected data at several sites along the river. Their findings showed that the river generally became wider, deeper and faster downstream, although there were some interesting anomalies at certain locations.
Students will now analyse and write up their findings in upcoming lessons, applying their fieldwork skills to real-world geographical enquiry.
Great Work!

**What a week! 💻✨**
This week saw our school successfully migrate to Microsoft. There have been plenty of ups and downs, but we are incredibly grateful to our staff and students for their patience, flexibility, and support throughout the transition.
We started the week with an INSET day focused on training and finished it with a fun and competitive staff quiz!
Thank you to everyone for embracing the change and helping make this important step forward a success. 💙

On Tuesday, we were delighted to welcome the Year 6 pupils from Woodhouse Primary School for a special transition event ahead of joining us in Year 7 this September. During their visit, the girls created beautiful keepsake boxes for someone special to them, enjoyed a guided tour of the school, and sampled some of the delicious food available in our canteen.
It was wonderful to see how quickly the girls settled in and embraced the experience with such enthusiasm and confidence. We hope the day has helped them feel excited and reassured about their upcoming transition from Year 6 to Year 7, and we look forward to welcoming them back in September.

We were pleased to welcome MP Preet Gill to school yesterday for a round table discussion with students on the proposed ban of social media for under 16s.
Students shared thoughtful views and experiences during the session, discussing both the benefits and challenges of social media use for young people, as well as the possible impact of future changes in legislation.
Thank you to Preet Gill for taking the time to listen to and engage with our students on an important and current issue.
