“I’m almost 92… and I’ve been coming for 12 years.”
Alison’s story says everything about what Move it or Lose it is really about 💜
She’s nearly 92…
She plays golf ⛳ and bridge ♣️
She still drives 🚗
She sings in her church choir 🎶
And she’s a proud great-grandmother to two little ones 👶
This is what staying active looks like.

Yes, our classes help with strength, balance and independence.
But as Alison so beautifully explains, it’s also about lifting your spirits, being around other people, and feeling part of something. When life is challenging — whether you’re caring for a loved one or simply navigating the changes that come with getting older — having somewhere to go, to move, to laugh, and to connect… matters more than ever.
And that’s exactly what our classes provide.
A place where:
✔️ You’re welcomed
✔️ You can move at your own pace
✔️ You leave feeling better than when you arrived
At almost 92, Alison is still showing up — not just for the exercise, but for the community, the routine, and the joy it brings.
Because this isn’t just about adding years to life — it’s about adding life to those years.

We’re absolutely delighted to have been featured in the latest edition of Thrive After 50 💜
It’s a brilliant magazine, full of practical, actionable advice to help people live well and stay healthy as they get older.
Our feature focuses on the benefits of “exercise snacking” — simple bursts of movement you can build into everyday life to help you stay strong, supple and well.
Because staying active doesn’t have to mean setting aside lots of time. It can be as simple as moving while the kettle boils, doing a few strength exercises during the TV adverts, or adding small movement habits into your daily routine.
That’s why we’ve created a whole library of resources to help people build more activity into their day, including:
☕ Our Cuppa Routine tea towels
💪 Our Exercise Snacks tea towels
💻 The Move it or Lose it Online Club
🏡 Our free Resistance Band Strength Guide
📖 Our Stay Fit for Life book
👥 And our friendly community classes across the UK
Small movements, done often, really can make a big difference over time.
