Riyani Indriyati, Trustee of Dahuni Foundation
Riyani is the founder and director of Dahuni Foundation; a UK-based organisation that focused on helping underprivileged but bright children in Southeast Asia to finish their education. Dahuni Foundation provides scholarship, mentoring and coaching program,and editorial service to students in Indonesia, Thailand, and Cambodia.
Nizma Agustjik, Founder of Chariots for Children.
Nizma is the founder and chairperson of Chariots for Children, a UK-based charity that often helps children and women victims of regional conflicts and natural disasters in Indonesia. In the aftermath of Aceh’s 2004 tsunami and other natural disasters, Chariots for Children worked to provide mobile clinic, dormitory, as well as education fund for children in the affected area.
Shally Pristine, Pengajar Muda (Indonesia Mengajar)
In 2011, Shally left her journalistic career to volunteer as a primary school teacher in the remote area of Mount Tambora, West Nusa Tenggara with Gerakan Indonesia Mengajar (Indonesia Teaches Movement). After she finished her volunteering duty, she served in Gerakan Indonesia Mengajar office as a Public Engagement Officer and Deputy Manager of Pengajar Muda Engagement Division. She is currently studying a master degree in Social Development Practice in University College London.
These amazing ladies have dedicated their time, energy, and personal finance to help underprivileged children in Indonesia to gain a good quality education. Join us in Volunteering for Indonesia: Talkshow to learn about what they do, how they impact other people, and how they manage to keep up their motivation to help people in need.
