🇬🇧🇬🇭 British Ghanaian actress Michaela Coel says African people don't want to live in Britain anymore saying many now prefer to live in Ghana.
Michaela Coel has said that the United Kingdom is gradually losing its appeal to West Africans, noting that many now prefer a more peaceful life in countries like Ghana. The award-winning actress, who grew up in East London, revealed that she now splits her time between the UK and Ghana, where she says she feels more at ease.
Speaking about the current situation in Britain, she pointed to ongoing anti-immigration protests as part of what makes the environment feel uncomfortable.
Reflecting on one of the demonstrations she witnessed from her London home, Coel said, “It just seems a bit odd because I don’t think many people are racing to immigrate to the UK like they used to.”
She added that there is a growing shift among West Africans, explaining, “I think more and more, if people can find a way out, I’m talking particularly for West Africans, they will go. I think the UK has lost the attraction it once had.”
Her comments come amid heightened debates over immigration in Britain. A recent protest organized by Tommy Robinson saw crowds march through London, voicing concerns about free speech and the country’s ongoing migration challenges.
