From the very beginning, Lawson Pope believed in the vision of what we were trying to build. Long before we had our own venue, he was helping us run sessions with generators, portable floodlights and whatever we needed to give the children the best possible environment.

Fast forward to today, and because of his continued belief and generosity, our players now train in a venue we’re proud to call home, surrounded by our branding and equipped with the highest quality equipment to match the standards we’re striving for every single day.

This isn’t just sponsorship. It’s belief. It’s trust. It’s someone investing in young people because they genuinely care.

Over the years, Lawson has become much more than a sponsor he’s become one of my closest friends. Through every challenge and every step forward, he has never let me down, and more importantly, he’s never let the children down. He continually goes above and beyond to make sure they have the very best environment to learn, grow and enjoy their football.

There was a time when there was no evidence.
No numbers. No players.
Weeks where no one turned up.

From the outside…
why would anyone invest in that?

But you did.

You didn’t wait for proof.
You didn’t need results.
You saw the vision when it was just me on a field, packing things away.

While others needed to see it first
you believed it first.

And not once… not once have you asked for anything in return.

That’s not business.
That’s belief.
That’s loyalty on a different level.⭕️

A lot has grown since those days…
but I’ll never forget who invested when there was nothing to show.

✨ Community Christmas Fundraiser – Thank You! ✨

Before Christmas, we held a charity fundraiser in aid of Acorns Children’s Hospice, and what started as a simple idea quickly turned into something truly magical.

We gave a shout-out to our amazing WR3 community, and before I knew it, a whole team of volunteers had come together to help organise and take part on the day. My original vision was a Santa’s grotto, mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies, a raffle, maybe some singing and food… but the reality was so much more.

We ended up with:
🎅 Two grottos – one for Santa and one for Mrs Claus
📸 A photographer
✉️ Letter writing with elves
🍔 The local scouts making food
☕️ The running of a canteen
🎟️ Three raffle stalls
🍭 A candyfloss lady
🎶 And the wonderful Musical Munchkins, who performed for everyone

Almost everything on the day was donated by local people – Christmas trees, lights, decorations, teddy bears, raffle prizes, cups, drinks… honestly, everything that made the event possible. The generosity was overwhelming.

Thank you to Mark Harris for letting us turn the site into a grotto!
