Back at to run mosaic couses after a year on maternity leave. It was another successful one day course with complete beginners with no previous knowledge in mosaics who managed to create these in just a day. The designs are aways the student's choice. In the midst of such isolating and lonely times for so many people, art is always going to be here for us, to inspire, encourage and remind us that we are creative beings by nature.

I had a lovely group of students yesterday in another one day mosaic course at London School of Mosaic. Two of them were students returning for the second time saying how much fun and joy they had in our last workshop; returning students is the best feedback to a tutor ❤

Another successful one day mosaic course at last Saturday. Everyone was a complete beginner and came with their own unique design ideas. People learn not only about the mosaic making process but also about design interpretation. People with no art or drawing skills feel happily surprised with their results. I love running this class ❤

We started part of the installation of the fountain mosaic at Vauxhall Park. In the inner collar we layed the mosaic with people harvesting lavender at the park. In the larger collar is a text celebrating the lavender planted at the park in 2003. There's more today...

Another successful one day mosaic course for beginners completed today @ the London School of Mosaic. Lots of unique designs made by my students.

London School of Mosaic has reopened its doors and today was the first mosaic course I run since Covid. Four lovely people who had never made mosaics before joined my course and had a go making a unique mosaic for the very first time. This is no ordinary course; in just a day these people have created some stunning art pieces!

I miss my students and I miss working directly in contact with people. The phone screen cannot replace those amazing moments of exchange of ideas, of creativity, of sharing a good laugh or the joy of completing a work of art. In this picture taken before lockdown, Gill who completed two mosaic courses with me has made this unique mosaic piece for her son. A true labour of love.
