The UoBe Festival ESports challenge for 2021 is now finished.
Over the four days, the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at University of Birmingham and UoB Esports Society supported by The NUEL hosted 383 games which were played by 50+ students.
Chess, undergoing a surge in popularity, had enthusiastic support from the Birmingham University Chess Society (BUCS) 2020/2021. 1st place went to Daniel Garcia-Leon from the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
Rocket League provided lots of thrills and skills with up to 16 players competing simultaneously. The winner was Daniel Bissett from the College of Social Sciences.
Among-Us, the hit social deduction game of 2020 in the paranoid covid era, provided much fun and chat with 1st place going to Aadil Vorajee from the College of Arts and Law.
The final leader board points (not adjusted for size of college) placed the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences on 1167, Social Sciences on 523, Arts and Law on 436, Life and Environment Sciences on 228, and Medical and Dental Sciences on 65.
