The Art Department has been a vibrant hub of texture, colour and cultural exploration this term. Pupils in Form 5 and Form 6 have pushed their creative boundaries, working across an impressive range of media, from traditional clay and textiles to multi-material sculpture and bold graphic painting.

Across both year groups, the sheer variety of materials tackled this term has been outstanding. 🎨✨

We are incredibly proud to reveal that the final amount raised for this year’s beneficiary charity, The Matt Gallagher Foundation is £10,002! Huge thanks to everyone across the Eversfield community for your generous support throughout this year. The eco-council have been boosting local biodiversity and encouraging pollinating insects to school with their newly planted wheelbarrow gardens. 🦋🌺🌼

To encourage insect habitats beyond the school gate every pupil has been given a packet of wildflower seeds to plant at home. 💚

Today, our pupils enjoyed a non-school uniform day in support of The Matt Gallagher Foundation

It felt particularly poignant for our school community, as Matt sadly passed away last week. Matt was a former Eversfield parent and someone who cared deeply about supporting young people. Through the Foundation established in his name, his legacy continues to make a positive difference to children and families.

We are proud to support the Foundation and to help raise funds for the important work it does. Thank you to all our pupils and families for taking part and contributing so generously.

Our thoughts are with Matt’s family and friends at this difficult time.

🌓🚀We welcomed Wonderdome Planetarium for an immersive journey through the cosmos with former Eversfield pupil, Chris Fowler. Inside the giant dome, Chris’s expert storytelling brought complex astronomical concepts to life, from the lifecycle of stars to the hidden secrets of distant planets.

📚Our visiting Book Fair had an extra "spin" as we welcomed a guest potter who demonstrated the art of pottery making.

Pottery and creative writing follow a similar creativity path. The children learned how the makers centre their thoughts, shape the creative ideas, and then edit, trim and polish - transforming something rough-form and fragile into a finished work that can be shared and enjoyed.

Maths you can sink your teeth into! 🥪

Form 5 have been testing the truth behind geometry today. To prove the formula for working out the area of a triangle, A = ½ (b x h), Mrs Buxton took a delicious detour into sandwich-making.

By slicing rectangles diagonally, they saw the theory in action: two identical triangles, one perfect rectangle (and zero crusts left behind after the taste test)!
