Today, our pupils enjoyed a non-school uniform day in support of The Matt Gallagher Foundation
It felt particularly poignant for our school community, as Matt sadly passed away last week. Matt was a former Eversfield parent and someone who cared deeply about supporting young people. Through the Foundation established in his name, his legacy continues to make a positive difference to children and families.
We are proud to support the Foundation and to help raise funds for the important work it does. Thank you to all our pupils and families for taking part and contributing so generously.
Our thoughts are with Mattβs family and friends at this difficult time.

ππWe welcomed Wonderdome Planetarium for an immersive journey through the cosmos with former Eversfield pupil, Chris Fowler. Inside the giant dome, Chrisβs expert storytelling brought complex astronomical concepts to life, from the lifecycle of stars to the hidden secrets of distant planets.
πHuge thanks to Eversfield School Association for funding this stellar visit.

πOur visiting Book Fair had an extra "spin" as we welcomed a guest potter who demonstrated the art of pottery making.
Pottery and creative writing follow a similar creativity path. The children learned how the makers centre their thoughts, shape the creative ideas, and then edit, trim and polish - transforming something rough-form and fragile into a finished work that can be shared and enjoyed.

Maths you can sink your teeth into! π₯ͺ
Form 5 have been testing the truth behind geometry today. To prove the formula for working out the area of a triangle, A = Β½ (b x h), Mrs Buxton took a delicious detour into sandwich-making.
By slicing rectangles diagonally, they saw the theory in action: two identical triangles, one perfect rectangle (and zero crusts left behind after the taste test)!

πWe have been taking World Book Day to a whole new dimension. ππForm 6 have created maths-based adaptations of classic fairy-tales to share with their Reception buddies. To move the story forward, our Reception children had to solve numeracy puzzles peppered throughout the pages which acted as gatekeepers to the next chapter. They loved the mathematical plot twists !

As part of their Anne Frank project, Form 6 took on the sophisticated task of dissecting one of her notable 1944 diary entries: βIn spite of everything, I still believe that people are truly good at heart.β
The classroom transformed into a space for debate as pupils had to decide where they stood on this statement, backing their views with evidence and attempting to persuade those on the opposing side.
The maturity they showed in researching such a sensitive topic, combined with their ability to argue complex points of view, was outstanding. They really grasped the weight of the history while developing their own voices.
